weeeell i'm into reverse harems (multiple hot guys please), but they always end up with one guy. and it really sucks when the main guy is a jerk and the nice guy gets cast aside or when they're all cool and funny and i really can't decide (looking at you, Oresama Teacher)

except for three kinda sorta smutty mangas i read the girl got to have both guys haha

If I was a author I would make multipule endings for every girl so they all have a chance to win

Harem ending doesn't make everyone happy though.
I as the viewer don't become happy. Most of the time I want one girl to win, or one guy.

Photo Kano and Amagami are two shows that come to mind where they explored every girl route as different arcs in the show.

I might prefer this if the harem option is not possible. Most of the time, best girl for me doesn't win.

To achieve the harem end, it requires that one's love for one girl isn't completely overshadowed by another. The easiest way to get a harem end is if the lead doesn't actually overly love any of the girls, but rather, in a friendly way, enjoys their company. Which is boring, this is anime, and no one wants such lameness. So, it is better to have one conclusive love interest. Or to leave it open to avoid getting threatening letters from hardcore "fans".

I personally think it's more boring that we keep getting the same old recycled process of "no one wins / open endings". Even the "one girl wins" doesn't happen frequently. I've seen more "one girl wins" in rom com love triangles than in rom com harems.

Yes, but romantic feelings from and for all the girls is quite difficult to maintain as a writer. You have to worry about trying to keep it all even, lest one seems more loved, which makes her later seem like the others are not as important. You also have to worry about not letting the girls seem overly fake or overused, which they end up being anyway. It is in trying to keep the story from being a certain way that it ends up being such way. Sadly.

Got to ask this question, give me the name of one harem anime that ends as a harem. That's all I want to know because I have missed it.

I don't think that would be the easiest way to get a harem ending. Personally, think it would be more reasonable to have one or two girls in the harem being the main lovers and the rest being secondary. The secondary lovers would have to accept their positions in the harem, which could be explained by saying that the they love the protagonist enough that they're happy to just be with him, even if it's not as much time as they would like (Momo from To-Love Ru Darkness would be a good example). The primary lover(s), who lose the most in this because they're the ones who can get the protagonist without this alternative, would have to be willing to accept the protagonist having multiple lovers under a reason like wanting to see their friends happy as well or being fine with it as long as they're in the primary position of the harem.

Still a hard solution to reach but a bit easier to do in my opinion.

The only one I can recall is Kanokon, although the "harem" only consists of two girls.

Campione. And, throughout the series it is made clear that they all accept it being a harem.

I'm of the opinion that a harem isn't a happy ending. The protag can dance and sing all he wants about how much he loves each of them but in reality all the harem proves is he doesn't love any of them individually enough to make a commitment to them. They are all just members of the harem; nothing individually special about any of their relationships. To me this is sad because I think they deserve better than that. They deserve a partner who can devote themself to them as much as they do which DOES NOT HAPPEN with a harem. Loving someone shouldn't need you to join a f**kin cue.

That being said a half assed love like that is better than no love at all so it certainly has its advantages over the "no one gets anyone" and non endings we see so much of in supposed romance shows these days (seriously what is the point of a romance with no resolution to the whole ROMANCE aspect of it!?). So while it isn't exactly my preferred way of ending a harem comedy I would tolerate it a lot more than it never going anywhere.

ALSO!!! If it does go to a harem ending it by zeus' mighty beard better be an open harem! By this I mean that if the protag is allowed to have 3+ girls as his lovers then each of those girls better damn well be allowed to be in a relationship with more than just him as well! If he isn't gonna commit then why should they? Fair is fair right?!
