If we're just choosing Japanese names we'd like to have then.

Saeko - serene child
Sora - sky
or
Sakura - Cherry Blossom which symbolizes rebirth.

Girls names yes I know but if you knew me you'd know why.

Officially, mine would be Chin Yakugō (I'm Chinese).
But ofc I'd like a diff name in Japanese.

For a Japanese name I'd take Kuroki (黒木) as family name and I'm not too sure about a given name 0.0

The proud droplets of Viking blood that run through my veins forbid me to alter my glorious name, Dr. Trenton Pope Scaife Esquire I, even if it's just for a hypothetical!

My answer could be different depending on whether I convert my name to Japanese, or if I simply picked a name that I liked.

Either way, I would be very tempted to take Yoshinaga (善永) as a last name. Yes, I'm an Idolmaster fan. As for a given name, sorry but I don't know.

However, I did find these sites for name frequencies, in case you wanted to know if that name you were thinking of would cause people to look at you weird. I imagine they're both approximations (the data they're using is likely different, and seems to conflict).

www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~suzakihp/index40.html
This one does last names only, but it can do partial searches on kanji (as in, I can input 黒, and it will get me , 木, 井, and others).
Results are displayed as: National ranking, Surname (as input), ?? (something I don't know), number of households with the surname, furigana readings (up to 6).

namaeranking.com
Can search surname only, given name only, or both, and shows how many people have that name in both the entire country and by prefecture. Can't do wildcard searches though (so you can't do a generic search for names containing a certain kanji).
Results are displayed as: Region, number of people with the name, number of people in the region.
