"Recently, our TV censorship is unusual" quote could never be said better. http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2014/01/29-1/recently-my-sister-is-unusual-moved-to-late-night-broadcast-slot-in-japan
Okay....This Anime has been bothering me on many levels, so this has been my thought on this Anime ""Recently, My Sister is Unusual".
Of course I have the right to "Not Watch" the Anime, and I really have not made a conscious choice to watch this one, but
I guess it is my inner "Prude" that make me turn off on these types of Anime's. There is no mystery why someone would want to watch this, or make a choice to "not" watch it. That is not the point of this discussion.
I would like to think that Crunchyroll has some taste, and a clinical eye when it comes to standards. After all, they are a business, and if they mess it up, then they have no more business.
So, on to the main topic:
Should Crunchyroll get all the Anime they can (no matter what), or should they be a little more subjective on their choices?
Crunchyroll does not allow people under the age 13 to join their site, but that does not stop people (kids) from logging on with a "Shell" account just to get on and watch Anime...
Does Crunchyroll have a responsibility to their clientele, or is it about to ruin itself by allowing more Anime of this "Mature" caliber and start to alienate their members?
Now is your chance to post your opinions. As an Adult I could find this Anime "Funny" in a twisted sort of way, but it is also the "Adult" in me that is concerned that kids may be getting the wrong idea, and that this is"Beyond" their years and maturity to understand fully that creates more questions, than answers. Do we really need to be channeling more "Moral" decline in the Anime society.
Recent update: Crunchyroll has updated the tag on the Anime as "Ecchi". I don't know if this is much of a "Stop" sign for younger viewers.
It would be like Disneyland adding a burlesque show in the middle of their park where all the family’s walk by with their kids.
Give me your ideas on this...and try to keep it thoughtful.

IF CR starts putting shows like this on, then your reputation is going to go down the hill. When I joined CR; I honestly thought that shows would be good and appropriate for all ages and gender. CR has done a GREAT job of that. But when I saw “this” anime series; I was SHOCKED! I couldn’t believe that the CR site (that I loved) would put something like “this” on their site. It totally ruined what I thought of CR.

The fact that it does not state ANYWHERE (that I saw) that this is a mature anime that contains sexual scenes and other inappropriate content, even though they tagged it later as “ecchi“ was surprising to say the least. MOST sites will tell you or give you a warning about this kind of thing.

Crunchyroll; what are you going to do when you get a complaint from a parent saying “my child came to me saying they saw something inappropriate/sexual and they don’t understand it”? How are you going to respond. What are you going to do when you get more than one parent saying this?

Up until now; people never had to think/worry about what shows would be added on CR. But now that you have added “this” kind of anime series; we members will have to think and be careful of what we watch and what CR adds.

You say that but have you not noticed that they have taken procedures for this. Look at my screenshots that I took just for this. So your saying that even though they warn people every time something is inappropriate unless you say you want to allow the mature contents. It even says if they are not 18 to get a parent or guardians consent. If a child does something like making a "Shell" account and removes the option to not allow mature content then there is nothing that can be done other than the parent taking responsibility. If someone was going to argue against CR for the mature content on here, they can defend by saying that there was a warning page before and we had asked them to ask for parent consent and even though we gave the warning they still went and did the action of watching it, thus the problem wouldn't be CR rather that the child and/or guardian/parent were responsible. You just can't limit everyone for a minority.

Where do you see that first screen shot? Do you only see it if you do that second screen shot? Please answer these questions. Then I'll tell you what I think. Thanks!

Are you some kind of special kid or what? If you don't want "adult" content, then block it. Just do it via your account settings.

If parents allow/does not notice that their apparently supercomputersavvy kids get on sites and pretend to be older, to watch "adult content", it's not Crunchyroll's fault.

This whole thread is completely pointless.

I agree with this person, the choice to watch it comes down to the person who is watching it

They must of RECENTLY(like a day or even hours ago) done this because it was NOT there before.
Bankshot saw the first ep of that series in your screenshot a couple of days ago and was showing it to me cause he couldn't believe CR had this. He NEVER got that message.

GOOD then! Both Bankshot and I are glad to see that CR has taken appropriate action. GOOD JOB CR.
Though I still think that IF you(CR) knew that these anime's would be inappropriate or have "bad" scenes; you should of done this sooner. You should of done this BEFORE the series started. Then you won't get as much people hating it and can still keep your reputation.
If you didn't know; then I hope that you would watch (if possible) or pay closer attention to the content of the anime's you add so that; you can do the "This video may be inappropriate for some people. Are you sure you want to continue?" thing BEFORE the series starts.

SORRY! >< I'm not trying to be mean or anything. I'm just disappointed. Even though they are trying to expand their selection; I didn't expect them to have "this" kind of series. Though I should of seen it coming since there were members asking for more "mature" series. But I'm glad they did something about it.

If you say that; then you could say the same thing to the other members who were surprised and shocked about some of the recent series CR picked up. I know that some of them aren't kids.

I'm sorry. But NOT EVERYONE on CR knows about this option in our account settings to block "adult" content.
If everyone knew about this setting; then there wouldn't be complaints.
IF CR did this "This video may be inappropriate for some people. Are you sure you want to continue?" sooner BEFORE the series started; then we wouldn't have this problem.
We made this thread cause of the comments people left in the reviews for this series and about how they were upset and/or disappointed that CR would choose such a series and make it public for everyone.

But since CR did do something; then we don't need this thread anymore. I'll ask a mod to remove it.

Is that supposed to be some kind of excuse? Crunchyroll.com is not the one who moderates your account settings, that is you.

I'm sure that "Yes/No" option has been there for ages, since "ecchi" tags have been around forever.
