The toothbrush scene in Nisemonogatari had me questioning my morals for a day or two after that.

Not at all traumatic for those of us who have no morals to question

Having to sit through School Days.

I nearly rage-quit from Makoto's douche-ness.

This show, I think, is it for me. I was new to anime when I watched it, and while a few episodes in I was seeing that it was different from other romance/harem anime I'd seen in that it was more serious and more realistic, I was quite startled by the ending
Any rage I felt was not toward Makoto though. He seemed fine to me, and while he could have handled things better, he didn't strike me as being a douche. It was Katsura's

From Elfen Lied, if you watched this anime, you know where this is going.

Like someone else said, episode 3 of Madoka Magica was really heavy for me. I swear I was a little depressed for most of the following morning (I watched the episode at night), and I knew going in that the series was going to be dark and that something big would happen in episode 3.

I know most people have a pretty low opinion of Day Break Illusion, but as someone who legitimately liked it, I found episode 9 to be borderline torturous.

The tooth brushing scene from Nisemonogatari(I think it was Nise). That was . . . uncomfortable to say the least. xD

The Mitsuba arc in gintama was one of the few moments in anime that actually made me sad. The villain of the arc is one of the few who I TRULY hate.

Oh my god.. That Episode. Genuinely had feelings of ... Not sure how to describe it, but Uncomfortable is a quick and easy way to describe it. Disturbed will also work.

As the title says.

Whether it's an event, something shocking, a character's death, or just a really f*cked up scene, what was an experience in anime that traumatized you the most, that you haven't forgotten and probably never will. Doesn't have to be gory or even dark, it could be a couple that you loved and they suddenly broke up, if you get emotional over that sort of thing..... (I'm not one to judge)

Since this is spoiler heavy territory, obviously put your experience in spoiler tags. Unless it's something EVERYONE has seen and knows about like the ending of Death Note or something.

Mine is in The End of Evangelion when...

Anyone else?

Yeah, the EoE really made me prefer the original ending. In fact, both endings initially angered me. The original felt incomplete, and EoE felt like a bunch of action and sexually suggestive fanservice of sorts. But after about a year or so I went back and watched it all over again along with EoE. It grew on me. I've watched the series like 4 or 5 times now, and it is by far my most favorite anime now.

In retrospect, Misato's actions somewhat make sense. If you just pay attention to subtle suggestions and actions towards him after episode 19 you can see the topic being suggested, but it is easily missed hence the great surprise of EoE.

School Days, I don't like to drop anime series and I didn't mind the series at first, but finishing that scarred me from watching any anime at all for like 4 days.

From actual series that I enjoyed, ones already posted, Mitsuba Okita and Levi squad decimation would probably top it.

Yeah, when i started watching Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien i was pretty crushed. Especially since i thought it was a feelgood series..

KGNE: Hey there, those are some nice feels you got there
Me: Thanks!
KGNE: It would be a waste if.. something were to happen with them..
Me: Wait what? I.. What do you mean?

Car accident, lifes destroyed, unrequitted love triangles, lies, tears, drama

Me: My feeeeeeeels! Why? Why would you do such a thing?!
