Can't wait, hopefully there are some good fansubs for it.

Ahh yeah, so unless CR does a shared simulcast, or some site over in the UK (I wouldn't know of any as I am not familiar with them) shows it, the only other option I guess would be the darkside of the internet with fansubs.

Wakanim lists TV Tokyo in the "Partners" section at the bottom of their main page, so they appear to be the most likely UK simulcast candidate if CR doesn't get a shared simulcast with Funimation.

It really depends on one thing: if MangaUK have the rights to episodes after the most recent season. If so, tough s**t, were not getting any streams.

Case in point: One Piece, been shown all over the place in the USA under Funimation (HULU, Daisukai, and now here) yet not a sausage here as MangaUK would lose a limb before allowing a stream of a series they could hock DVD's of.

Keep in mind thou. FUNimation only licenses for NORTH AMERICA. So CR could still pick it up for other countries or a double streaming like with AoT etc.

Funimation has been known to pick up licenses for other countries (especially the English speaking countries) and then later re-licensing those rights to companies such as Madman Entertainment in Australia and Manga Entertainment or MVM in the UK.

In addition to the possibility of a shared license as you mentioned there is also the route of a non-English language license (similar to No-rin and Selector Infected).

I honestly don't understand to much about licensing and stuff but I don't get why a site people pay for like Crunchyroll doesn't get the licenses. I would love to watch Fairy Tail in HD on Crunchyroll but even if that were the case I bet it wouldn't be available in my country either like One Piece..

Sometimes another company in another country is willing to pay more than CR, or has a special relationship with a specific publisher.

Sometimes a company like Funimation may actually hold a license that covers more than the US and Canada, and either later sub-licenses it for home video in those regions (but does nothing with streaming rights), or even simply doesn't utilize those rights (as I expect is often the case with South Africa).

Some companies simply have their own reasons for not licensing for streaming to certain parts of the world.

Frankly, licensing is a complicated game that has its roots deep back into the last century when everything was physically regionalized by broadcast and later home video distribution companies, none of normally crossed national boundaries.

Well, nuts. Maybe CR will work out a deal with Funi to do a joint simulcast.

If they do I personally see it being like the WIXOSS one, where FUNi deals with the English sub (and dub) release. While CR handles everywhere else they can.

The voice cast is much better in Japanese than English imo. I've watched both.

I just wonder if the FUNi deal is the same deal that CR had with the first series meaning they only stayed up for 4 weeks then were gone. If you wanted to jump in late there was no way you could "legally" catch up.
