So there's this thing in the store that I reeeally want. It only costs £10, but shipping brings this up to about £18.

I've read online that the import duty/VAT/taxes on orders to the UK are waived if the order total is less than £15. What I need to know is whether or not the shipping cost counts toward this £15 threshold.

As you might have guessed; I don't really have much experience in ordering online from other countries. Anybody else out there been in this situation before?

Does that apply to international shipping costs, though?

I'm pretty sure different rules apply.

Nevermind, I e-mailed somebody about it.

If anyone else was wondering; shipping costs don't count towards import VAT, but do count towards import duty. However £18 isn't enough to have any import duty placed on my order.

Which means I can go buy that thing now. Yaaaaay.
