With my first year of Crunchyroll almost here and some parts of the world it is already here. For this post I just wanted to give my thoughts on the site. At the beginning I thought it was really good. It had lots of options of different anime and more to come. I got use to the ads and then later I decide to buy a year subscription. It was still pretty great. Getting to watch new anime without waiting a week (well at least on this site). I also got to watch some of the exclusive anime that you could only watch with a subscription. By that I found my favorite anime (at least for now) Anohana. Later on with the year I found the forums and that is surely a fun place.Everything seemed perfectly swell I mean I got to watch some anime with some to little delay and got to be apart of a community that isn't half bad.

Well at the end of my first year is where problems started to come. The amount of anime that has been delayed is really high to before. Use to be 1 series and now it is around 5 or so. Also another thing is that the Free users are getting the episodes at the old times where the paying users got it a week earlier then them. Shouldn't the free users have to wait like the paid? The community of the forums I wouldn't really say changed I would say that my opinion on anime just change. It use to be me just watching it without thinking to much and noticing the flaws. Now it is just me seeing the flaws to certain shows. As for Crunchyroll being on different devices other then the computer have been hit or miss. The windows app I do believe it quite good. For consoles at the time of me using the Xbox 360 I found nothing wrong with it honestly. As for the PS3 it is where it isn't the greatest the app has it share of problems being sometimes I let the anime load and then press play and it only plays audio or where it just doesn't show any episodes on the anime I clicked on. Another is just crashing the PS3 while trying to watch an episode. Why don;t I just use the Xbox version? Well I don't want to pay for live just to use Crunchyroll. i haven't used the little market place, but as of what I read I don't really want to. What is most often said is the long shipping and poor costumer support.

Overall with my first year on Crunchyroll has been a fun and great one. It is a site that I will use in the future, but as for having a premium membership really depends if the delays are still going to be like they are now. For the manga it is a cool feature and I might look into that for the next time i have to pay to keep my premium. For the Dramas eh I don't care to much for them. Finally why am I writing this? I don't I was bored and had some issues, but I also wanted to celebrate my first year on here. Thanks for reading any who did and hopefully more years will come.

Bye Bye.

Are you high?

The "delays" are because of the tv-networks and when they release the episodes, not because of Crunchyroll. Or maybe I'm just not understanding at all what you're trying to say. Non-sub's have to wait a week for series as always?

The delays I am talking about are the ones that that aren't tv networks fault. Witch Craft Episodes air Sunday, but we don't get them tell Wednesday. SYD shows on Saturday, but we don't get it until Tuesday. I don't understand what you are trying to say for the last statement. Is it how I tried to say that I believe free users should get the episode a week after the paid do instead of getting it a few days early.

I know what shows are delayed like Sakura Trick and Chunni for the episode being delivered and problems with leakers. I actually read the articles they have and the page for the anime. (unlike most people around my age).

Well I don't know the exact deals crunchy roll has with it's licensors but some shows are probably only licensed based on the agreement that crunchy roll will air them after they have aired on some other site. There's actually a couple of different sites now unlike before. Funimation has their own service, a couple of anime companies formed Daisuke (the latest season of Monogatari was simulcasted there as opposed to being delayed by like a month or something on crunchy roll. Aniplex is one of the owners of Daisuke so pretty much can bet they put that stipulation in the contract for crunchy roll to air it). I would mention HULU but I think they get their stuff from Funimation. So basically, some of these delays are probably stipulations licensors set for crunchy roll to be able to stream their shows.

I think crunchyroll really has a bad customer support but has many of their customers by the balls with apps like ps3 and so on. which frequently work as they should..

What Shukuzen said is actually correct regarding the TV networks. A lot of the extra delays are caused by them because of how TV works in Japan. They have a lot of regional TV networks, so a show may air in Tokyo on Monday and Kyoto on Thursday. This means that the TV network airing it in Kyoto can choose to delay streams until Thursday.

Normally if a show is delayed by more than 1 day, it's probably a case of the TV networks or license holders getting in the way. This normally happens for 1-3 shows per season from what I've seen. Everything else is normally within a few hours or a day at most. Crunchyroll wouldn't choose to delay a show, as they know that many anime "fans" would just use the delay as false justification to pirate it.

I don't know what's going on with the free users delay though. Witch Craft Works is a 3 day delay for premium and 10 day delay for free, while SYD is a 3 day delay for premium and 7 day delay for free. That doesn't make any sense. It's probably just a mistake that SYD is being released early for free users due to the change in broadcast day.
