Sure, lots of times. I think almost everyone does at some point in their lives. Some more than others. But like was said upthread, it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem...there's no going back, once done it's game over and there's no reset button. Without knowing (or wanting to know) the specific situation, I would just say to exhaust every option, and I mean every one, before taking such a drastic step. Talk to people about how you feel, anyone, even if it's a stranger on the street. Talk to your doctor, there are chemical imbalances people can get that seriously screw with your mind and make you think everything's black when it's really not. And if you're 18, like your profile says, then I can say from experience that you will have ups and downs in life, and the downs can really suck, but the ups are there too and they will come. Even if right now it may not seem like it.

I am agnostic, so I don't know if there is an afterlife or not. That said, I believe that life is fun and is to be enjoyed. Sometimes you just have to ride out the rough spells.

Trust me, I'm 35, and I've been there. Life is what you make of it. Let us think that the point of existence isn't to be a servant, but to have fun. I treat everyone as I'd like to be treated. I really enjoy living even though it isn't always super easy.

Suicide is for losers. Life is for winners. And, I would be a friend for anyone that needs one.

Thought of it only once when I was 17, then I gained more resolve and made a goal to strive for.

Anime world huh, I mean if you want to escape this reality then why not help make a virtual reality where you could escape to *cough* "Sword Art Online"... yeah I mean VRMMO's could be really big, if we set a deadline like... I don't know... 2022

but seriously a setting a goal helped me, I only hope it could help you OP

I tried to kill myself once by ingesting a whole bottle of pills. Then I realized it was just a container of peppermint tic tacs.

Thought about it sometimes, i dont really have a problem with it, but ive come to the conclusion that ill probably never try, but i also dont care if i die, and when i feel depressed i remember i dont have to give a fuck about anything and it makes it better. At the end of the day we're born with nothing and we die alone.

Whatever youre going through you can always start over, until youre dead. And just think of how much better off you are than other people. If you want someone to talk to or be there for you call the suicide prevention, its not as good as an actual friend but its better than dying and leaving nothing.

While there is no doubt that life is hard as shit for a lot of people, myself included, I don't think 'ending it' makes anything better. Because when you're dead, you're dead. You won't know if your life meant anything, or if your death changed anything. There is literally nothing to gain from offing yourself. That said, If you keep going, you'll have unlimited opportunities to better your life. Everyone feels alone, or miserable, or worthless at one point or another. Sometimes it seems that there's no hope in the foreseeable future. But that's the trick, just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. You just have to keep going, and you find meaning/purpose/happiness or whatever you're looking for.

It's not worth the bother of killing yourself, since you always kill yourself too late.

EMIL CIORAN, The Trouble with Being Born

The trouble with suicide, is that you hurt the people who love you the most. However those that hurt you either chuckle or don't even notice.

Hi,

I'm closing this thread because there is already one on this topic, with quite a bit of discussion, over at http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-804308/suicide. Please feel free to post over there.
