Most seinen are underrated, while shounen/harem take the most spotlight.

The drawing is amazingly well done in each chapter. You'll like the drawing

This series kicks butt, js. Check it out if you haven't. The unfortunate thing about this series is had the anime been reeaaaallly amazing, it would be getting a lot more attention. Now i don't think the anime is as bad as some people claim, but it really doesn't live up to the series the way shows like HxH do.

The story is pretty awesome with some fantastic characters. The art early on is meh, but by around chapter 40 or so, it really steps up a notch and now it looks overall fantastic. The way the armor is drawn is just so beautiful.

Part of why I like this series so much is it's got some of the light-heartedness of a shonen series, but the mature undertones of a seinen series. The main character is veeeery shonen, and I'll concede he's probably the weakest link in regards to the characters, as odd as that sounds, however the side characters more than make up for him. Then you go into the politics which are faaaar more mature than what you'd find in a shonen series, yet at the same time it has very shonen vibe to it with silly, immature humor. i think it does a good job between balancing the goof, funny aspects of shonen, with the mature, fascinating, and complex plot and themes you'd find in a seinen.

If you haven't read it, I highly suggest you check it out, it gets really intense and really awesome. And right now in the manga they're starting to get into some really interesting stuff.

I hope this manga won't go in the same direction as Berserk, which has gotten lost potential with those new, random arcs.

I stopped following it a little while ago when I caught up. It was right after the Joint Army arc.

I'll pick it up again after a little while.

Still waiting for it to be licensed in the US. Come on, Viz. I'm even willing to settle for 2-in-1s at this point.

Started reading this manga a couple weeks ago and I just caught up... 421 chapters and I just have to catch up at a nail-biting cliffhanger. Of course, more chapters than not end in cliffhangers so it's really not surprising. Frustrating, but not surprising.

I love that the mangaka is using actual historical records to frame the story, I think it makes it far more interesting and also keeps things moving along nicely. I hope that having the framework of actual history will prevent the downward spiral into dragging-things-out-land that effects many other long-running series - which shall remain nameless but will still be known by all.

This manga is easily one of my favorites. Too bad the anime could not match it.

Yeah, having caught up with the manga I'm debating whether or not to watch the anime... It seems like there are plenty of arguments both for and against.
