This is one of my favorite titles right now, so I decided to make a discussion topic for it. I highly recommend it. This is not a typical high school romcom. If you've never heard of it, give it a try. If you have seen it, what do you think?

Well, he is trying to redeem what he did in the past. Idk if he will achieve it but that shows some form of redemption. Looking at his past history though..he is quite the player.

I was talking about his friend who stabbed him out of jealousy.
My best friend is way more popular with girls than I am. He always has been. Hell, he even brags about having sex with some chick frequently. But I don't feel like stabbing him to death. I just tell him, okay so you screwed another slut, good for you.

I have only read the description and not the manga. It sounds to me like that friend of simply got jealous of the guy's success and stabbed him. I wouldn't want to help someone like that get laid.

I should rewrite that synopsis when I have time, because it's pretty bad. He doesn't know why his friend killed him and I think he assumes it's about women because he feels guilty about how he treated women. He's trying to help his buddy out, but he's also just trying to be a stand up guy. Unfortunately, the girls from his past seem to like him even more when he's not being a douche, go figure.

To sum it up: Love hurts.

I didn't read what the thread's synopsis was but I do read the manga itself. As far as redemption goes, I think there's still a lot of mystery to it. While the mc being a playboy in the past is certainly a factor that caused his best friend to kill him, it might be more than just that. Of course, the girls in past doesn't go away and still has an eye for him, well some anyways. He's trying to redeem what he did in the past and give his friend a chance.

Love this series as well, it's different than most of the manga that is out there. Based on the latest chapter it would seem like he is going down the same path no mater what choices he makes... If nothing else he might die a better person?

You make it sound like he's trying to do good, nah, he even mentions that if it weren't for his life in the line, he wouldn't be bothered. And well.. they are in the same high school, kinda hard to avoid that, his experience from past relationships doesn't help much either. But hey! Only 13 chapters so far, not entirely impossible to change the persona of a 32 year old man.

Sounds like you have it rough, LOL

Anyways, not to spoil too much, but jealousy was portrayed to be the original basis for murder. If you've read it and are up to date, I'm willing to elaborate on that thought.

High school or not, people make mistakes in the past and if there's a second chance, they'd go back to fix it. Shit happens in high school whether you get involved with students, teachers, etc. Of course it would be hard to avoid it. I doubt anyone would of had the perfect HS life. What I meant by redemption isn't necessarily just by doing good to redeem what happened in the past but rather as a way to help his friend while fixing his mistake.

He's trying to save himself as well as giving his friend a chance. The mistake can't ever be erased. Even if he manages to redeem himself, what happened has happened.

Not exactly sure why you're twisting around the meaning of redeem, in any-case I will stand by the notion that he is doing it for his own skin. To be frank, he can give a rat's ass about others and he even says in the latest chapters "that if it weren't for his life in the line, he wouldn't be bothered." That is not to say, just because the means of doing what he's doing may be different, does not mean that it will change the ends.

edit: the way the artist draw's his friend's eyes when he's in creep mode reminds me Higurashi

I think he keeps telling himself that, but you can tell he really cares about Rika. I still think that his guilt is motivating him. He doesn't really know why his "friend" killed him. He just assumes it was because he was a douche. I think there is definitely a "twist" in there somewhere, and I think it has to do with his friends motives. In the meantime, it's entertaining watching him tiptoe through these landmines.

Couldn't have said it better myself, I believed his original motive was to save his own ass, and helping others with their dilemmas was just part the job. But with the recent chapters, it makes it look that he does seem to care about the welfare of the girls of whom he had past relationships whether that be a guise to hide his guilt or may very well be genuine, I'm not sure as of yet. And considering that he is a grown man, with a handle on reality, I can sympathize with his methods of dealing with the girls, I mean they look like kids to him lol

The reason for the murder is my main interest, excuse the mild misogyny but they are gentlemen not chicks, I can hardly believe that jealousy would be used as a motive for murder. With that said, I really hope to see how this will develop from here-on-out.
