So what's the fuss behind this? America is full of many cultures and this portrays it in the commercial. Are people really this jumpy when it comes to commercials nowadays?

I guess many ignorant people have forgotten that Coca Cola has done commercials like this before. I mean, It's been awhile but Coca Cola has always done multi-ethnical commercials. I mean look at this one.

Well this IS the greatest - the most consequential (even with Obama leading from behind), nation in human history. That said everyone should learn English which is the defacto language of the nation - and most DO!

It was a nice sounding add, I didn't really feel like watching it but heard the audio ...and had no intention of complaining about any aspect of it as it is a very good thing all these peoples have come to this country - they make it even greater. If only the whole world sang this song! It really is only a small percentage of the right upset about it but it just makes our side look bad ...and gives the left wing wolves something to howl at - as usual the liberals are over reacting to the over reacting. Calling these people on the far right "bigots" and "un-American" just shows the liberal propensity to see those who differ from them as EVIL whereas the right believes them to be good intentioned - but misguided.

Seriously, no need to panic (liberals) about the two guys! Here's my reaction: YAWN.

It has been years since I've had a Coke anyway; I want to try the new Recees.

Colbert pretty much covered all that needed to be said (satirically, in case you don't notice the "comedy Central" logo) Skip to the 2 minute mark but especially pay attention to the part about the author of the song herself.

I thought it portrayed what the US is quite well. I won't be drinking coke any time soon, but that's because I try to avoid drinking something I can use to clean car battery terminals, not because an ad was controversial.

(emphasis mine)

Germans who say "Where God kissed the earth and they called it Germany"

French who constantly re-invent the wheel just so they can say it's theirs.

Brits who say "The Wogs begin at Calais"

Canadians who don't say anything but cannot hide the smug certainty of their superiority no matter how they thickly they plaster on their culturally imposed "politeness".

You.

ALL wrong.

And who is panicking? We've had Gay/Lesbian marriage and divorce in my own country for about ten years. what's the fuss about? our morals haven't collapsed our families are as strong or as weak as they ever were.

Overall the commercials to me this year had to be the worst. The Doritos commercials didn't even make me chuckle.
