I wouldn't be surprised if it was based on the same code that was submitted for CR's updated app.

That of course would raise a question about why it was approved while CR's own app was not.

I'm also in the waiting for hd on the roku. I understand it takes time but it is getting pretty tiring.

I started this thread 24 days ago. Not once have we had any feedback on the progress of the update or if they have dropped it again due to lack of staff. I love crunchyroll but at least tell us SOMETHING!

Agreed lack of contact might make some people leave. It would be really nice if we got more updates because that might help prevent this. I have always liked crunchyroll. It does work awesome on my panasonic media player. There are lots of 1080 shows. It is too bad they don't have more time to work on it. I have a roku 3 and didn't even bother loading the crunchyroll app on it.

I posted a thread about having trouble getting shows to load seven days ago and have yet to receive a reply as to what the trouble could be. It happens sporadically with some days having no issues, and other days shows refuse to load altogether. So, yeah, I definitely agree that the lack of contact over an issue like this is somewhat frustrating.

I opened this thread 6 weeks ago. Not once have we had any official response. Obviously its not done yet but for quite a while it was on hiatus. Any status update would be greatly appreciated. What use is a help forum you never get answers in?

I would guess that CR's resources were put towards finishing up the PS Vita application which from my understanding had been promised for a very very long time. Perhaps the Roku is next but I would not get my hopes up.

I sincerely hope the Roku won't be abandoned as it's my viewing method for about 90% of the anime I watch. The lack of progress on a new app kind of makes me worried about the life span for the current app even. I think I've waited about a year and a half now, and I believe others have waited longer than that.

I doubt it will be abandoned, as it is almost up to 8 million units sold as of the beginning of this year, and that is after hitting 5 million a year ago.

It also isn't as if they haven't been working on the new Roku app, they simply haven't been successful in getting Roku to accept it.

Frankly, I would love to know what Roku's reasons for the rejections have been. It would be terrible if they are simply saying "rejected" without giving the reason(s) why (or being so ambiguous as to be unhelpful), and leaving CR to try and determine what they might have done wrong.

My understanding is, and take this with a grain of salt, that Roku is actually really helpful with pointing out issues. They want to make sure all the channels have a high level of maturity and stability. Very much like the rigorous approval process Apple has in place.

We were told it had been re-submitted 3 weeks BEFORE I started this thread. And never a official word here since. What use is a help forum if all it is good for is blowing off some steam?

A couple weeks ago, we caught a few things that we felt strongly needed tweaking, we're currently working on polishing up the experience some before getting it out the door.

I think (and hope!) existing Roku users will be very happy with the update.
