If it will be that good, I'll be glad to wait (even though I can't take waiting! xD) Making the best for the Roku is something I care about even more.

I would like to note that Blizzard Entertainment, specifically the World of Warcraft developers, have trademarked the term "soon."

I would hope CR has consulted their legal team as to its use on these forums.

Thanks for the update Josh!

I have a Roku but also bought an AppleTV so I could watch in HD while waiting for the new Roku App but I'm not loving the interface. The worst part for me is that when you fast forward or rewind, there is no visual preview of where you are in the episode. I like to fastforward through the opening credits but, on the AppleTV, knowing when to stop fast forwarding is a guessing game.

Does the new Roku app handle FF/REW similar to the current Roku App with screenshot thumbnails you can scroll through? I personally think that is the best method. Thanks again!

Unfortunately both applications do not give previews of content while seeking through. AppleTV will be getting this feature in the coming months as we revamp our video serving architecture, and Roku may be getting it in a future update but unfortunately with this re-release it will not be there.

Apologies for that, we think it's a great feature to have too.

Thank for the quick reply Josh! That's a bummer about the new Roku app but I'm excited to hear that feature may be coming to AppleTV in the foreseeable future. I'll cross my fingers that it works out! Thanks again!!

Roku with out the seeker makes me a sad panda. :(
But as long as the roku app plays 1080p or any HD, will be fine with me.

Good news: I see a new Roku app.

Bad news: It says I don't have a premium membership.

Common problem typically solved in one of two ways.

1. Completely log out and log back in.

2. Uninstall and reinstall the channel.

Hope that works for you.

You got my hopes up, but I only see the same old Roku app (i.e., only 2 dots when playing a recent title).

Ditto here... same interface, same resolution on mine. If there really was a release, maybe Roku doesn't send them out all at the same time? I know they took longer to update the main interface on the LT than on the 3 for example...

Just found out you can see what versions your channels are by pressing

HOME HOME HOME UP UP LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT

Mine says version 2.9 build 0

The UI looks the same to me, not a premium member so I can't test if there's any HD.

From what was said elsewhere, while the new version will have HD, one item the initial build will be lacking is the thumbnails that appear when doing fast forward or rewind. Even you you don't have a subscription, that change should be evident.

I looked in the channel store it says 1.3 from Oct 2012. Just for grins and giggles i uninstalled and reinstalled it. No change. I also tried manual update no joy there either. Also Kdrama is still 1.3. Would like to know how some folks seem to be getting it. This is on a Roku 2XS.

Guess I should've said mine is Roku 2 XD. Thumbnails also show up when I scroll.
