Remember people, this is an outfit battle, not a character/show battle!

Don't think this thread was meant to become a battle :P
TS just wanted people post their favorite magical girl outfits. Not everyone has watched a lot of magical girl animes. I myself have only watched the Madoka one, so....

I prefer Madoka's outfit to the others

What, no love for Princess Tutu?

Actually, never heard of that. Looks cute, might have to check it out.

Princess Tutu is like Puella Magi Madoka Magia in the sense that it looks adorable, cute and fluffy...But that is a total lie.

Princess Tutu is an absolute deconstruction of magical girl animes; it is dark, tragic, and a brooding fairytale-in-a-fairytale - it gets darker and more sinister as the series goes on.

I highly recommend it. Not to mention, it has beautiful music and great characters. It uses ballet as its basis, but most certainly does not limit itself to that.

ALL OF LIFE IS A BATTLE! ONLY THE LOSERS SUGGEST OTHERWISE!

Edit; Picture was stupid, found a Gif to better emphasize the point.

-Um, Sailor Moon's final form in the original anime (can't remember what it's called). Oh and Sailor Mars' outfit. *growls*
-Sayaka's outfit (Madoka Magica)
-Amulet Spade and Amulet Diamond (Shugo Chara)
-Nanoha's and Fate's outfits (Lyrical Nanoha)

Although the PreCure/Pretty Cure outfits look cool, I still haven't gotten to f##king watching all of it!

She's not really a magical girl though, is she? She's more of a metaphysical-symbolic-allegorical girl.

Revolutionary Girl Utena is technically a magical girl anime, and Utena herself gets powers from a magical source and goes through transformation sequences for almost every episode. Hell, eventually, Utena's power is drawn from the bond between her and Anthy. She fits the bill.

I don't quite agree. I would put Utena among Serial Experiments Lain, Evangelion...Those kind of allegorical/symbolic series with layers of complex meanings. To me, magical girl anime is Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura...Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Utena is (in my opinion) psychological and intellectual. The entire show is a symbol for growing up/graduating into the adult world etc. Utena might have her transformation, but the entire basis of the series is not magical girl, but rather a strange world of hidden meanings and abstract imagery.

Utena is a magical girl show, but it's also a deconstruction, just like Madoka and Tutu. It deconstructs magical girl, shoujo, and fairy tales to showcase the more harsh side of growing up and the foibles of adolescence. Besides, Madoka and Tutu are both magical girl anime that happen to be intellectual, why can't Utena. Hell, Madoka and Tutu probably wouldn't even exist without Utena.
