So I just got this fancy new jumbo windows phone and the first thing I did was install Crunchyroll and watch the new Hunter x Hunter. First there is a black border on the top about a centimeter thick. This wasn't too bad because the app still ran fine. Then when I played the video there was another border on the top of the screen (opposite the windows keys) and another on both sides ( right and left the windows keys). This isn't a huge problem but it just makes me really sad. I love Crunchyroll and I love windows phone. I will probably still use this app but I'm just trying to make people aware of this issue so we can get an update in the near future. Anyone else have a jumbo windows phone with this problem? Let me know! Crunchyroll needs to know about this. When I get home I will post a screen shot of what this looks like on my phone. I'm not really sure if I can put an image up using my phone because when I click the "Browse..." button for image upload nothing happens.

This is apparently a known issue, as when I checked the reviews in the app store, a review from late December states:

App is great but has an area of black space due to not utilizing the Lumia 1520s 1080p resolution. Would appreciate a patch.

No doubt this arises from it being written in the early days of Windows phones when a resolution as high as the 1520 wasn't even supported by the OS.

Given the relatively small market share for the Windows phone OS and CR's limited resources, I wouldn't bet on an update soon. The best bet is if they decide to do a phone/RT app after the code base for both operating systems are unified by Microsoft.
