Synopsis

Imamura Kinichiro reluctantly wakes up one day to attend his high school graduation. He'd made no friends in high school and joined no clubs. Everyone was afraid of him, due to his long blond hair and surly attitude. Reflecting on his awful high school years, he remembers a girl from the Japanese cheering squad that he saw in the welcome ceremony three years ago. Searching for the old cheering squad's clubroom, he accidentally startles a classmate, causing them both to fall down a flight of stairs...

When he wakes up, it's the morning of his first day of high school, three years ago. As he confusedly goes through his day, he's able to correct a lot of the mistakes he made the first time around, such as actually interacting with the cheering squad girl, Usami Yoshiko! But did he really travel in time, or is this all just a dream he's having while his body is lying unconscious somewhere? Could he really have the chance to go through his high school years again?

It needs to get licensed already. By the way, the author is a woman.

Sounds interesting, though I can sense a sort of bittersweet moment if that line of it being a dream being true.

Strange thing reading the summary there. To me, it's almost as if...

... someone finished their VN, then pressed reset and started over for a better ending.

Sorry to say, it got cancelled and ends at chapter 136.

I can see why -- I think if the mangaka stuck with just the plotline of him changing the Cheering Club to prevent Usami from dropping out it would have been better than jumping all over the place.

The way I think it could have went was: the two of them starting a relationship together after he prevents that point in time where she ruins the baseball match (with occasional glimpses of the present time, where the dropout Usami is trying to piece together how she knows him, even though in that timeline they never really met anytime during those 3 years of HS), and it ends with... maybe... the two timelines merging -- to where the Real-world Usami (ie the dropout one) gains all the memories from the Again!! Usami of Imamura and his impact of her from his time in the Again!!, in turn continuing the relationship in the real world, where the Cheer Club in the school isn't disbanded, etc.

As for Imamura, he's no longer the loner he used to be because of his quest to prevent Usami from dropping out, and also because of his love for Usami herself (and Usami's love for him, which I'm assuming is a very stubborn one). Maybe a timeskip when they have kids, or something to wrap it up. Also, he keeps the shorter hairstyle.

Something along those lines.

Cancelled? Somehow it doesn't surprise me. I like it but the story seems to be going nowhere.

I hope the mangaka had enough advance warning to give us a rushed ending that at least wraps up the primary relationships. There is a ton left to be translated.

I agree that once he saved the Cheering Club and prevented Usami from dropping out, the story has had absolutely zero direction and even worse story. It seemed like Imamura decided that whatever feelings there were between he and Usami were entirely unimportant to him or something.

Or, he just decided "since I've changed Usami's fate, why not everyone else's?"
