Do something to get them out of your mind like watch a anime that has a really complex story so you can think about the story and not your friend

My best friend moved to another country a few years ago so I totally relate. I felt my heart was ripped apart for a few weeks but it got better with time as it's the only cure.

You should try to spend some time with other friends, though, it'll help a lot by keeping you distracted.

And I'm pretty sure your buddy doesn't put you on the same level as other people, it's all in your head!

You need to express your feelings to this man, tell him that he is in your heart.

You guys are awesome! I really appreciate how supportive you guys have been.

I completely forgot about clubs at school. I will probably look into seeing if there is an anime club.

Thanks for the suggestions again.

Music, video games, watch movies (comedy or any funny stuff), go on walks. I met most of my friends through video games and I am introvert just like you. Find someone else that has the same interests as you.

You need to try something like take the train to some isolated place and see how your view can expand. You're only lonely because you feel as thou that was all you could see and all that mattered,

Also, you really don't need to talk to people or friends. What you liked about your friend is the distance between your minds but enjoyed the comfort of having him being around. I suggest you try going to the library (it's crowded so you have people talking etc...the noise is comforting) get a book and read it. Also at night, read a story book before you sleep lol.

Honestly things like this can't be taken care of with a cure or something. You can use a band-aid method to help forget temporarily, but the only thing that will heal the scar is time.

Try and watch good anime shows.Avoid any sad types of animes, they only make it worse. And of course, same with video games.

I've made a few "internet friends" in MMOs. World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, etc. If you're not into those types of games, how about getting a cat or a dog? Having something to take care of can help. I'd like to say that things will get better in time, but honestly in my case I've been lonely and depressed for a very long time. I've just learned to adapt to it. I take anti-depressants but they have a numbing effect on my emotions so I advise caution there.

I have a great friend I've known since jr. high (I'm in my 30s) but we live in different states so we haven't seen each other in a long time. Even so, we chat every day. Having someone to talk to will be the biggest help for you IMO. It doesn't have to be about serious stuff. Just try to find people with shared interests. MMOs are great for that. It's not just teenage male nerds that play them. You can find all types of people, guys and girls of all ages and interests. And of course, on forums like these. I hope things get better for you.

If you believe that your depression is becoming all encompassing, seek professional help that can give you individualized care.
