I have a HDTV and whenever I go full screen the sides of the video along with the subtitles get cut off what do I do?

Try adjusting the aspect ratio and/or sizing on your TV itself. In most modern TV's, there's an auto detect that will adjust for you. These things should be somewhere at the menu.

If not, try using your graphics card options to adjust.

I'll wager on your Windows desktop most or even all of the taskbar also gets cut off. If so, you TV is clearly set to overscan (something which should have died with CRT televisions).

If so, you'll need to either check your remote for a control to adjust this (it is "Aspect" on mine) or delve into the settings. Unfortunately, each TV manufacturer seems to want to use their own name for turning off overscan.
