For example, Subway. Seriously it isn't that difficult to do so! Why harm the consumer instead of helping? Especially when they go on and on about how "fresh and healthy" everything is! So yea make your own sandwich lol Anyways these are some interesting reads. What's your take on it or anything food related? Really wish one could click those links...=o

Fixed.

As for the articles... well doesn't affect me, I don't eat at Subway, only eat at family diners or bars, which I am sure do the same thing but it doesn't bother me, i'm not a health nut OR I eat at home, which the stuff you buy from the grocers is practically just as bad so eh, again not a health nut though.

Some people are just lazy.

Some people (as per the American lifestyle) just don't have the time to make their own food - or aren't willing to make the time.

Es ist traurig aber wahr.

ok, i'm gonna sound like a rambling lunatic; but... EVERYTHING on this Earth has negative side effect. The oxygen you breathe itself is HIGHLY toxic to humans. One of the reasons why we AGE, it's because of free oxygen radicals inside our body affecting the productivity of mitochondria.

Sunlight is dangerous. Everything is dangerous, nobody is safe from anything. If you're gonna pay extra attention to such mundane things, you're never gonna be happy.

I'm not saying, let's all get high on weed since we'll all die in the end, but there's no point in worrying there's this little chemical in this food that might cause cancer when we're 80.

Everybody will get cancer at some point, it's the nature of genetic replication.

It all depends on if I get 1-2 hours to myself today I don't want to spend said 1 hr cooking..With that being said if I have the day off there is no reason I cant just cook a meal..No matter how you look at it though everything you eat and do harms your body..So why worry whether someone cooks "Real food" Or juist does the microwave or fast food lifestyle..In the end it is all based on how much time a person has. Or if the person doesn't justify wasting time on cooking..If time were not a factor I think you would see more people actually making meals.

True, but this is deliberate and in no way natural compared to your earlier statements. I wouldnt say this is mundane whether it affects those who visit this establishment or not. Why is it banned everywhere else except for 2 countries? So it has to be something, but i get what your saying and also media has a way of doing some tricky things. lol would rather it not affect me at all let alone 80 ha

I'd say its more or less the government... You give subsides to fast food places, they can make those sandwiches for a dollar or two, you try and make your own and you'll easily spend 2-3x as much. Its sad that in america is costs much more to be conscious about your health. I remember in Europe (I was born/am from there) i bought 4 pounds or so of raspberries for about 3 euros or about 5$ back then. Compared to 4OZ costing 4.99$ here... America has its priorities messed all the way up lol as far as food goes

My fridge doesn't have 75% of the stuff they have at Subway. If I wanted the exact ingredients, I'd be spending much more than I would for a $5 footlong sub.

Most of this is because cooking from scratch can take hours to do, which is one of the reasons why we have all of these preserved foods on the market. The intention was to make live more convenient for people, and to give people more free time.

Also, a loss of cooking knowledge, and white bean chili is most difficult recipe that I have done in my life. I normally make due with eating rice, pickles, cereal, bread, and ramen noodles, myself.

Just because a given chemical has none food uses doesn't mean it's harmful, i mean the chemistry is a lot different for one. Heck anything in high enough doses is toxic, even water.

In the case of the countries that ban azodicarbonamide (limited to 45ppm in U.S as a food additive), it's the pure chemical and is a risk with prolonged exposure. In cooked breads it forms biurea, which the body can easily get rid of when ingested. All because consumer want low stable prices and good taste while retailers want good shelf life for their inventory. High Fructose Corn Syrup was born out of a Nixon era effort to stabilize food prices, but thanks to corn subsidies it's much cheaper than sugar (sucrose) and is technically sweeter so it has become the default sweetener.

Did you know they treat meats to keep its color. They use carbon monoxide (so called MAP(Modified Atomosphere Packaging)) cause of the strong bond it has with myoglobin which in turn keeps it red. Why? Cause meat quickly turns a unappetizing grey brown, and not doing means less meat and higher prices.
