A few months ago I discovered a little show called Hunter x Hunter...

Safe to say, it's AMAZING!! So I got to thinking, since Hunter x Hunter is rapidly catching up to the manga, and Mad House is probably going to have to stop making episodes, what if they did the same thing they did with Hunter x Hunter and remake the entirety of Yu Yu Hakusho with the same top notch animation, no fillers, and easy access on Crunchyroll.

What would you think of such an event, and how likely do you think it is?

Fun idea but probably won't happen unless fans really push for it.

Why? YuYu Hakusho is pretty damn perfect the way it is now. There wasn't really any filler in the anime at all, and the only thing different was the very, very ending after the Demon World Tournament, and even then it was good enough to still stand on its own feet. There is absolutely no need for an anime remake what so ever.

Honestly this Hunter x Hunter didn't really need a remake either. The original was just as wonderful. The only thing is, after about a 12 year break, I they really couldn't just release the Chimaera Ant arc, no one would watch it. So they had to remake the whole thing.

Although I would actually say I like the old one a little better. It's not a huge difference. It's like if HxH2011 gets an A then HxH gets an A+. The older one had a slightly darker feeling and more detailed animation style. Funny enough, both of them are a lot cleaner than Togashi's manga drawings.

I've never watched Yuyu Hakusho though. The thing I particularly like about Hunter x Hunter is its strategy side. It often feels closer to Death Note than Naruto to me. Does Yuyu Hakusho have that kind of feeling?

They need to make one because I'm curious to see how they'll pull it off.
Also I miss the series too.

With YuYu the strategy depends on who is fighting. Kurabara, is basically a blunt object and not the most strategic, but kurama who uses plants as his weapons tends to have very strategic fights, with plenty of feints and deception.

YYH was the anime that got me into anime, it's very near and dear to me. Part of it's charm, for me at least, is how wonderfully 90's and quite frankly, dated it looks. But I certainly wouldn't be opposed to a remake, I feel that it never really got the audience it deserved here in the state and maybe that could help it. It's really a shame because as far as fighting anime goes I think it is one of the best.

If they did remake it I'd have to demand that got the same voice actors from the English dub back. It just wouldn't be the same without Justin Cook...

eh in the current chimera arc i can see the death note feeling. but if its the 90's version i am not sure i understand, it was indeed dark, but it was different.

anyways, yuyu hakusho was really big because of its dark tone, but it does have the naruto feeling without the cheesyness. though i saw it before naruto so the feeling may be different.

if you like hunter x hunter especially the 90's one, i think you'll love yu yu hakusho.

i personally consider it a legacy in anime so yea definately try it out.

^ I agree with this

As much as I love Yu Yu Hakusho I believe there's a lot more anime out there that could use a remake to justify the content better than it originally was (If the manga was the source of content).

though even if it does get a remake I wouldn't mind either ^^ I'd definitely watch it

I loved the Yu Yu Hakusho anime. It adapted the whole manga so I don't see it getting a remake just for better animation and pacing. I can easily name 50 different anime I'd want to get a remake instead of Yu Yu Hakusho.

I'm definitely not saying I wouldn't welcome and watch a remake, I just don't see why they would go out of there way to do it.

don't think it would. never-ending shonen just isn't as popular as it used to be. (thank god.)
