The Sadness that follows

Just curious how many of you get so wrapped up in a show (anime or other), get to know the characters, diligently (or obsessively) watch it...only to feel that empty feeling once the credits fade out and you realize its over. Even if the series was emotionally eye opening, or just action packed awesome.

so really, I want to know if you guys feel the same way; or if you feel something else :D
also which series has most affected you when it ended!

cheers!

p.s
The one that affected me the most was Little Busters!...I felt incredibly sad AND happy at once it was over. Couldn't do anything other then sit there staring at my blank TV till it was 5 in the morning...

Other people feel this?!?!?! AWESOME! Yeah, the worse mistake i think I can possibly make it staying up all night and watching tons of episodes of one anime. Because not only am i worn out and tired from staying up late, but I literally finish the series in one day. There is no feeling like that. I did it with the first season of Kuroko's Basketball. NEVER AGAIN! Too many feels of disappointment for it being over.

I can not agree more with slambago, I absolutely hate when an Anime doesn't show what happens after the plot is resolved. It makes so many emotions run through. I just had this experience with Eureka 7 and while I did watch the "direct sequel" AO it didn't fill the void of questions I still have remaining.

Some other honorable mentions for me (I usually don't read the manga) was Vandread and Kenichi the mightiest disciple. But yeah when an anime finished I legit feel an empty void till I find another!

It's that feeling when you drop your ice cream cone you just bought before you got a chance to even lick it.

even unemotional robots be like "error 404: ice cream not found in mouth receptacle" (equivalent of robot sadness)

Code Geass!!! Damn it I say to myself. They survived and are together. Lelouch and C.C. Nothing else can be accepted but the ending is free of interpreting. So I believe they survived. Lelouch may have died of Suzaku's blade stab but C.C. prayed in the church at the same time. Maybe transferred her immortal powers she had left to make him live. Still I don't like how it was unconcluded like that. Hope Akito Exiled could show some more hints but maybe that's just wish-thinking. I will either way believe they live happy together now. Love love love love!!!

Almost every day of my life, honestly. Fiction is my escape from my responsibilities! I don't think it's healthy to feel like this all the time, so I occasionally take a break for a day or two.

I get sad when an excellent anime finishes with a terrible ending, or my favourite character(s) die off. WHY? why do they have to die? There are many other possible (annoying) people that could have died, why did it have to be them?

When a show ends for me I just kinda,
Sit around for a few days.
I get upset only if it didn't turn out how I thought.
Or my favorite character died before the end.

the one that hit me most recently was Toradora. the character development was so good i felt like i had know the characters for years and when it was over realizing that they arent real people was hard. another would be samurai champlo, the ending to that one had me in a daze for a while

I always have another anime ready to start right after I finish a good one. I used to get those feelings after every anime but now it's only for really good ones that had sad stories.

I'm always a bit sad when I finish watching an anime I enjoyed, but it was the worst with Clannad (After Story). I cried and laughed with the characters like never before. I always get goosebumps when I watch something related to Clannad or when I listen to the music.

It happens to me with books...always. I get attached to the characters so much that when I'm done reading it I feel so sad and empty because I won't ever see my characters again!!! (I say "see" because I imagine everything^^)
