Really hoping this isn't going to turn out how I think it's going to turn out (childhood friend, old crush, new girl, etc, etc...). Come on Seo, pitch us something NEW. Give the childhood friend a real fighting chance her and let her win for once! Otherwise this is just a repeat of Suzuka.

You can still have a nice dynamic love story that doesn't end up with the obvious couple. Would still be nice to see two friends supporting each other while they fall in love with other people.

Sorry to say that I expect you to be disappointed. If the series weren't named for Fuuka, then there might be a fighting chance for the childhood idol to win the day, but as it is, Fuuka and Yuu are the obvious OTP. I am curious as to how long it will take and how much drama they will have to go through before their relationship starts. I could see him putting a lengthy relationship with Koyuki, possibly one that has to be kept secret because of her idol status, as a stumbling block, with Fuuka supporting them while she tries to launch her own career, but having to deal with tons of tough emotions as she gradually realizes what she really wants as she watches Yuu and Koyuki struggle with their relationship.

I can't imagine that the "idols can't have boyfriends" angle won't show up at some point in the story, right?

I fully expect to be disappointed myself but that doesn't mean I can't be surprised. When they introduced her as having an old crush my interest in the whole story started to drop dramatically.

"Not again."

The whole unrequited childhood friend love is so overly drawn out. Not sure if the writers all had their hearts broken and just want to inflict the same kind of pain on their characters or they can only regurgitate the same plot line because of waning creativity. As you can read my frustration in this post, I'll hold out to see where this is going for several more chapters before probably dropping it and reading the last several chapters when it decides to end it's cliche self.

I bet he will choose Fuuka before that idol girl although there's a good chance both will go out with him. Love triangle, Seo style. Then, there's going to be a lot of teasing and 100th chapter will be when do it. Just a guess ~

actually wouldn't mind seeing the MC in a relationship with the famous childhood friend at first... at the same time maybe he becomes Fuuka's manager as she starts out in the music biz... relationship with Koyuki crumbles... Fuuka is like surprise here's a song "I love you MC" ... ok maybe not... sounded good in my mind.

Are you sure you're reading the same manga as I am? Fuuka has no desire to do track and I think Yuu would die if he had to do something like that! This is not Fuuka's parent's manga.

Love how Seo decided to make a manga based on Suzuka and Yamato's daughter. Took me a moment to make the connection since its been years since I finished Suzuka, but I'm glad I caught on. Anyways, looking forward to seeing the progression of this manga.

Is it just me or are we heading towards mutual feelings a lot faster than Seo's other works?

It does seem that way.

Fuuka doesn't seem to have any tragic reason to resist falling for Yuu (that we know of, at least), unlike her mother. Yuu doesn't have anybody else that he is crushing on, unlike Haruto. The biggest impediment to the two of them starting an actual relationship, as opposed to a series of "dates as friends" is Yuu's crippling lack of self-esteem. Oh, and the fact that he didn't tell her that her favorite singer is his childhood friend, and Fuuka is convinced that the Koyuki sang differently at the concert because the guy she wrote all those love songs for was in the audience. That could cause a problem later... The question is whether it will happen before or after they start dating, or if Koyuki will nab him first.

I still expect a major issue caused by Fuuka misunderstanding something about his sisters, as well. Something like seeing them out and about while they are teasing him, possibly when drunk, leading him to have a reputation as a "player" because he has been seen with a bunch of different girls...

There will obviously be a conflict with the love triangle, but Yuu is already getting major hints that Fuuka likes him and he has already acknowledged how he feels about her. Unless she is writing those loves songs for someone else, we seem to be moving toward a relationship in record time. I think the sisters will be a blip, with Fuuka misunderstanding him, and then confronting him quickly. She doesn't seem the type to brood.

I'm not sure that Yuu has acknowledged how he feels about Fuuka. He has stated that he feels drawn to her, but he seems a bit tsundere to me. That is probably his lack of self esteem talking though. (Like when she invited him to the concert and he told her to go with a closer friend.)

Assuming that we can trust Mikasa and Nachi-sempai, other people view her as crushing on Yuu, and the exchange in chapter 9 really suggests that she is well aware of it, too.

In terms of her brooding, I agree about the sisters. However, I can totally see her choosing to step back and let Koyuki have Yuu when she finds out about their past and the fact that she really did write those songs for him. She was profoundly moved by Koyuki's music. I can totally see her choosing to give up on him because of the "realness" of the emotions in Koyuki's music. (Then it will be up to Koyuki to figure out that Yuu is really in love with Fuuka and not her...)

Regardless, I am really enjoying the manga. Fuuka is a breath of fresh air, in my opinion.

Seo just pumped out three more Special Chapters for Kimi (Nagoshi, Nagato and another Yuzuki) if anyone hasn't seen them yet.
