Discussion
One of my Top 3 manga. It has all i like: great action scenes, a powerful story and characters and a hint of romance. Point really important as well, Boichi's art is gorgeous and really fitting. I recommend it to read to everybody as well as his other works.
What do you think of it?

The writing isn't all that great. Cheesy and predictable like most shonen/fighting-type stories. That said, the cheesiness brings out more emotion because of the incredible art. Normally, "only good art" doesn't make a good manga, but for Sun Ken Rock it works really well that it sets it apart from most action stories.

I highly recommend for the action lovers out there.

I don't think we're reading the same manga here...
First of all, it's not a shonen... at all. Sure it's a fighting manga first and for all but calling it predictable is simply forgetting all the plot laid since chapter 1.

But yeah, it would appeal more to action lovers.

Sun-Ken Rock chapter 136 is out so go read it now if it's not yet done. Spoilers incoming!

alright? I can go ahead and talk of the chapter?
I always do reviews of Boichi's chapters if you are interested http://sunkenrock.com/sun-ken-rock/chapter-136/

but talking about that chapter, the fall of the SKR group sur was quick. I guess the White Dragon clan made the wisest choice in chosing his pawns...
Ken is finally back and damn is he ripped! He must have been training non stop in those long months he was away. I mean, look at this knuckle on page 12! And seeing as they are leaving for Mont Ji-Ri, I bet he has spent all this time training there with the remnants of Ban Phuong's gang.

On a side note, the NIS agent called Kim Minho introduced in this chapter seems to be the same as the one dying in Jirou's dream/flashback, in the first chapter of Wallman. For those who don't know, Wallman is Boichi's other on-going manga and it's closely connecting with Sun-Ken Rock.

And now we have a long month of wait ahead of us... It's hard on my little fan heart...

Just pointing this out. You appear to be a new member here, so I'm just helping ya out.

yes, I know but I believe those coming here have already read the manga or we'd have a forum full of hidden spoiler. Which makes it harder to convey anything.

I use the spoiler tags when talking about a chapter or manga that hasn't yet been published in english.

The little warning was for those that might have missed the chapter and telling them to go read it.
Anyways, thanks for the tip. I am indeed new to CR but in no way new to forums ;)

I came in here thinking this was a discussion topic. It's modeled like every one of them I see on CR. So I was under the impression that there were no spoilers, and any that were posted would have been in tags.

Just saying.

Wow, great cliffhanger! Whats going to happen now? I liked the direction it was taking before the last page but this is even more interesting.

Now I have to wait a whole month for the next chapter :/

Rofl at kotani's reaction when realizing the whole thing. Anyways i wonder what he meant by the end but what's important it seems that both yumin and ken at the start of the chapter seemed resolve to send the white dragon clan to snap city !!!

I LOVE this manga. I know why it is ranked so high among fans. The art is absolutely OUTSTANDING. How seriously dark and gritty the series can get is a huge plus and its funny! If a book can make you laugh it has redeeming value. One of my personal favorites
