The anxiety of not getting anything. I think it's terrifying. Reminds me that I live alone and get lonely non stop. Now my emotions have taken a trip to another place. Damn nonchalance!!!

Why do you have to buy? I believe I'm making toffee for my best friend and family this year.

I dunno. It is one of my top 3 holidays (maybe 2 or 3, Thanksgiving is #1 for me). I always gave chocolates to girls since like Middle School and I admit I gave much more than I received and I can't stress -much more- enough. I can be quoted for liking people that smile and, well, chocolate usually does the trick or even being handed a box with a ribbon.

If you are in a relationship I feel the gesture must be nice and it fits with the norm. I'd imagine one sided relationships may just have the guy buying things* (if they can't bake LOLOLOL), but people I knew from college were pretty mutual about the holiday.

*Quick edit: Only said that perspective based off the original post. It could be one sided the other way, of course.

I buy chocolates for myself even though I don't like chocolates. Just like how I buy myself Christmas gifts

Well what he was saying was that men buy things for girls, where as I second that part you follow it up with "and girls make men cookies and other fattening munchies." or something along those lines.

All in all I personally feel like I should not be told a date upon which it is customary to buy a lady something to show my affection and thus I have never celebrated the day... Not noting I am usually single around that time of year... or any time of year... But anyways..... So I tend to show my affection on a regular basis of maybe once a week, if I cant afford to do that, than I can't afford to be in a relationship.

But that is my point of view...

Also he could of actually been taking it from personal experience, in which case, bro you have a bad case of the "NeverEscapingTheFriendsZoneIdus" and I have to be the barer of bad news, their are very few cures. Try finding someone new. Doctor's orders.

Just another normal day for me with or without someone. It irritates me when I see people on Facebook posting pictures of their bf/gf nonstop, all that is left is a picture of them taking a dump together.

I'm scared to even look at my Facebook page

I prefer to not think about it.

I guess I should be considered lucky since I usually get my tax returns right before Valentine's Day. So in celebration of the day that reminds me that I'm single, I get to buy something stupid for myself. I still get my mother a nice, expensive box of chocolates and a bouquet of roses every year too.

I've never really gotten anyone anything on valentine's day
It was never a big deal for me and I've always been so very greatful that all my previous relationships were over before valentine's day (I think).
It isn't because I don't wanna get my partner anything, it's just because it seems to be required and I don't like it hahah
if i remember correct we can get chocolates in a package for cheaper? yeah that's one thing i like about that day

What is this thing called love?

Once upon a time I had a girlfriend on Valentines Day.
She brought me flowers, and took me out to dinner.
Quite the charmer that one.
Made me feel like a real princess.
