for me the search function is unbearable for shows that have a lot of episodes; you have to click on the episode than the show

Opening the show no videos load just keeps trying to load. This has happened before and I have to delete the app and reload it to get it to stop trying to down load,

Took three tries to open your website as your server would time out.
When I did finally get in, tried to get onto help forum but would not download. Gave up after ten minutes.

PLEASE, INCREASE YOUR SERVER CAPACITY!

Videos don't appear or won't load. If get to load, multiple stalls and poor resolution.

Six months ago this never happened.

This is not on my end it is on yours!

Can't even email the problem from the app so reporting it here.

Edit:

As an aside, when I canceled my membership, I only canceled the re-occurring payment as I was going to continue to use my premium membership until the time was up. Crunchyroll decided since I wasn't going to automatically pay each month they immediately canceled my premium membership status.

Just for that I'm never going to spend another dollar on this website again, since they decided they wanted to kick the door shut behind me.

Everyone should vote with their wallets, and cancel their re-occurring memberships.

So much this. I actually read all the text prior to cancelling my membership and was rather shocked the service didn't continue until the billing cycle ended. They're hoping you wait until the last day and then forget about canceling. Bam. Charged for another month.

Anyway. I encountered the same issues. Video's would freeze, fail to load, or become slowed down and choppy to the point that stuff became unwatchable. I muscled through the series I wanted to look at and eventually gave up watching any new ones.. It would happen at all times of the day. I watch most my anime between midnight and 4 am (yay insomnia) so I don't think it was bottlenecking on the part of my ISP.

I troubleshoot internet issues for a living and I am having the same issues everyone else here is complaining about. And before anyone asks I have mega bandwidth coming into and out of my location, so it is NOT a bandwidth issue with my end. The only explanation here is that they either have a really crappy load balancer or they have maxxed out their capacity and are not buying more for whatever reason. The fact that their main website doesn't load quickly (at all) is pathetic. To actually stream video to it also just makes it worse (cons I'm talking about here).

I'm thinking of cancelling my script also as the site is almost unusable. My question is, if so many people are complaining and can prove it's not on their end, why haven't they joined in this discussion. Keeping us in the dark is only going to lead to lost sales. And customer retention should be one of their highest priorities as it's easier to sell things to a repeat customer than a person who hasn't bought from you before.

You can blame CR all you want but the problem lays directly at the feet of their IT staff. Blame them if you want to blame anyone, for either not setting up their CDN properly or for not explaining the issue to their bosses effectively enough to get a resolution in place.

At least I can still load videos at standard resolution if I buffer for awhile first.

Im 50mps down and 25 up. That should be fast enough to do anything I want to do.

My computer is a gaming rig bought within the last 5 months. It runs games with all the sparklys on.

I use Open DNS. I tried Google DNS. Yes I have spoken to Customer Service.

Regardless of all that, I cannot even open videos tonight. They just dont even show up when I open the link.

This computer, my laptop, another rig, same deal.

I have had to shut off and restart videos over and over again for the last few weeks. Traceroute shows packet loss. Its not me. But it gets there eventually. Slow pings. SLOOOOOW Pings off the server.

My television, which I am guessing has a far less powerful processor than my computer, runs fine.

Here is my belief: Crunchyroll optimized their service for Mobile and Smart TV applications because they are "the future" and have cut down their servers for "Traditional" Customers.

Having spoken to customer service many times, I am at my wits end. Its getting to the point where its not worth having this service.

As to why nobody is here, maybe you havent noticed but if you try to get technical support this forum is NOT listed. This forum is NOT listed on the forums site unless you happen to notice a tiny little word "Help" on the bottom.

They dont want these issues publicly posted. Its very obvious.

And, Hey look Wichita KS Speedtest, again aint me.

Unless something has changed since the last time I saw it reported, Flash streams for web browser use a different CDN (Akamai) than the devices (Limelight).

If you check around the forum here, you'll find some people with the opposite problem; device streams are problematic, while Flash streams work. A small subset of unfortunate people have issues with both.

Until CR finally gets their HD-enabled version of their Roku app pushed through, I'll be viewing on my PC, and I'm thankful to say I have no significant issues with the Flash streams. I view at 720p instead of 1080p, as the latter would be wasted on my current old HDTV, but from what I've seen, most people that have problems with 1080p are rarely able to view 720p without issues, and often 480p or all resolutions are affected.

Same Problem here. Streams stuttering and stopping. Even SD Quality has problems. Typical paid Service weekend Problems.

Call me a gloomster, but all this will lead to is people switching back to illegal fansubs that are readily available even on weekends and crunchyroll eventually joining in with the rest of the Media Industry yelling about how filesharing killed their business. Just sad.

PLEASE, INCREASE YOUR CAPACITY! It is the day and age of cloud computing. You can add capacity as needed more on Weekends less during the Week.

65Mbps/15Mbps connection here, have tried several computers over thenetwork they all experience the same problem for me. I can view just fine, but it is very slow to load more recently (last few months), mainly however the problem is with buffering, it seems limited. If I leaveit to buffer for 5+ minutes it'll come back with something ridiculously low like 266 bytes (not kb/mb) saved from static.ak , I also have an issue I've reported several times but have not been able to solve (with or without the help of CR tech support) wherein if I leave it buffering for even 10minutes+ (more than enough for the whole video) it will buffer a limited amount and then stop there, no matter if I move the time/etc, until I refresh the page entirely. Tried all adobe settings (yes including local storage, reinstalling flash, older versions of flash, etc). Sad thing is I had this on my old PC and was hoping his new rig wouldn't have the same issue but it does sadly.

I might have to cancel simply because it's not worth it with the problems I already had as well as these issues I'vebeen having recently... however it works so flawlessly on my tablet it begs to be kept.

I have been a CR subscriber for over a year now and although I do not have any issues with the streaming (even for 1080 contents), the site itself have been noticeably very slow. I have 50mb download and 25mb upload speed. This is definitely within the last month or so. Prior to that, things were fast on the site itself with a few hiccups on the streaming during peak hours. It could be an ISP issue as I don't have much issue accessing the web site on ATT's wireless network. I believe CR really should look into this issue.

I'm also having problems with Crunchyroll atm. I have a stable fibre optic connection and I can stream HD videos on Netflix, Wakanim, Animax and YouTube with no problems whatsoever. Yet right now I'm unable to finish the latest episode of Wizard Barristers because the video has been constantly stopping like the website keeps on terminating the connection. Aren't CR doing anything to fix this?

120 Mb down/ 30 Mb up. FGone through everything on their video troubleshooting page. Every other streaming service does absolutely fine, except CR. With or without other DNS servers, different OSes, browsers, etc. It's just too choppy, I have to keep refreshing the page.

Please, mighty CR gods, help us!

I've been a paying member since 2011 but uptill the the last few weeks I never really used the service (forgot I was still paying for it acctully lol)

I'm watching Hunter x hunter and the connection is beyond a joke. I can only use 480p and even that is running like crap now. Its mot my pc or connection, I can stream 1080p stuff from other services.

unless it gets better soon I'll be looking elsewhere....

Has to be their servers... I can't even stream SD. (I also gave it a quick test at work; Gigabit Fibre).

FYI: I'm a long time member and this is not the first time this has happened.

Infrastructure problems are not always simple to fix; but they have gotten the job done in the past. (Eventually! )
