So far, I have seen the first few episodes of White Album; up to episode 14. I'm just so confused to what is happening in the anime.....so the reason why I'm posting this, is because I want to know if anyone else was confused watching this anime, and if it is worth continuing up to White Album 2. Am I having a hard time understanding because of how stupid I am? This is the first time I've never really got the story, or at least know some of it. To me, it just seems like a bunch of random events going on at the same time...So please tell me, if I should suck it up, and continue, or just give up because it's just going to get even more confusing in the later episodes.

I can't help you much with White Album but I know that you do not need to watch/finish White Album to watch White Album 2.
If you wanted to you can just skip to White Album 2 as it isn't directly connected to White Album.

nah you don't really need to watch it to enjoy White Album 2
The way White Album 1 finishes is kinda dumb too.. so I wouldn't force myself to finish watching it.

White Album 2 takes place in the same universe 10 years after the events of White Album. That said there are no cross over characters nor events so there is no need to finish White Album to prepare for White Album 2. The stories are completely different and independent of each other.

I sadly did watch all of White Album and I wish I hadn't. I thought it was an absolutely terrible story and the MC is one of the slimiest male chauvinistic characters in all of anime He's in the same category as Makoto from School Days. The story itself was overly dramatic to the point of feeling completely forced.

There really isn't too much to be confused about but since you are I would just say to drop the show, it's not going to get any better. If you like nonsensical overdeveloped drama, an abysmal story, poorly developed characters, and an MC who is a complete jerk then White Album is for you. If not you're better off dropping it.

As for White Album 2 I have heard a lot of great things about it. I've yet to start it but the story sounds good so personally I would skip White Album and just start White Album 2

Lmao! Man...i finished White Album pretty recently after dropping it last year and it was scary how little sense it made. I guess i instinctively knew it would be bad so that's why i dropped it. It's basically about a love story between the MC and his girlfriend's manager at that point right? It was so comical. The events that occurred were so painfully random and vague it made me have to assess every single thing that happened and try to connect them, and even in doing so, the payoff in the end was absurd. People complain about Makoto from School Days? Oh yea, that's cool, but this ADULT doesn't know any better and no one mentions him. Dat "anime fan" logic. Ridiculous. I only finished to watch the moments with him and the manager because they were pretty hot aside from how dumb it was lol. I would continue because i like to try and put the story together using my knowledge to make sense of it, but it was not an easy task.

Obviously this is just my opinion, but White Album wasn't a great show. As you say, it is a very confusing plot. White Album 2, albeit still based on a Visual Novel, is more enjoyable and east to follow.

Stop watching White Album for now, and watch White Album 2. Enjoy that one, then go back and finish up White Album if you feel up to it. I watched it to the end because I hate leaving shows unfinished. No matter how tough they are to continue.

Sadly MAL broke this anime up into two 13 episode series instead of a straight 26 episode shot so since I watched the whole first half it doesn't appear in my dropped list. I watched White Album since everyone was starting to rave about White Album 2 but I really wished I just read the forum posts that told me I didn't need to watch it at all. That said I did enjoy the OP and ED, and the song White Album is good so at least it wasn't a total waste. Funny School Days was mentioned, I was actually hoping for a School Days ending in White Album before I ever watched School Days to know what the ending was.

WA wasn't that bad, the plot gets better in the second half of the series & I thought the ending was fitting with the way the MC was acting. Actually he somewhat redeems himself at the end by realizing his faults. The MC g/f (forget her name/too lazy to look up) is just as stupid without the cheating aspect.

I honestly don't understand the whole "your an idol so no relationships" thing but then again I'm not Japanese, so I guess the fanboy-ism is stronger with them?

Definitely watch WA2 tho, It was the highlight of last year for me
