This season you have Noragami, Space Brothers, and Hajime no Ippo. They still make plenty of animes without teenager drama.

If you are asking them to stop completely, well you are barking up the wrong tree there. They are too popular for that to happen.

i agree with the rest and understand how you feel. Its all about majority vote and what the people want...

It was cool when i was young and in school myself but 15 years later its getting kinda odd the older i get. I want to see some adult anime too. Something that doesnt take place in a school or whatever. Some grown people problems and stuff..

I shall reminisce and think of a few,,

Hellsing
trigun
cowboy bebop
lupin
witch hunter robin
wolf rain
gundum (G,Wing)
Zoids

not an impressive line up... i only mention these cause i currently have drawings of them on the walls around me..

Here is a list of shows that are on my walls that dont quite make the cut...

Last exile... mmm.. they are young but kind of dealing with adult issues(??)
Gantz... i prefer the manga to the show and well... definitely adult material but still starred a teenager. Not sure about this one either(???)
Serial Experiments Lain... starred a teenager... but... kinda adult in nature(???)
.hack//sign ... ok i have no idea about this one... not sure where it goes(???)
Code Geass... MMM.. he was a teenager but other then the filler episodes of him in school it was pretty rrr... mature-ish??
GTO... loved both manga and show... adult like humor mainly dealt with kids though... i dont know about this one either(???)
Evangelion... ok.. this one was kinda annoying with all the whinny kid drama...
Yu Yu Hakusho ... rrr... kinda kidish.. ish.. i dont know (??)
SWO... starred teenagers. But they did act pretty mature... i dont know (???)
Ah My Goddess... ok. this one definitely.. especially any seen with Skuld in it.

You know what. I think i failed this test..

It's an ongoing joke that Japan has shit taste :P.

Check these out for good 'older cast' anime
Lupin III
Crest of the Stars - Banner of the stars (The story follows them from their teenage years to early adulthood)
Spice and Wolf
Rin Daughters of Mnemosyne (there is 1 loli character but she's an immortal and is technically very old emotionally)
Blue Gender
Hellsing
Maison Ikkoku
Berserk
Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Black Lagoon
Glass Fleet
Hokuto No Ken

You're asking for something that won't happen for a long time. Anime is aimed towards teenagers and young adults. Guess what most anime have? Teenagers and young adults. Like most people said anime in the 90's and before have older characters. And recent anime like Golden Time, Servant x Servant, Wizard Barrister, and a few others have main characters that are in college or after.

All I can really do is echo what has already been said. For a start, it fits the majority of the anime demographic i.e. teenagers and young people, and it sells well. As much as I love anime with older characters because they DO stand out against the majority of younger ones, it doesn't sway my decision to watch it. If it lack good characters, art, animation, sound, story etc. then I won't watch it.

Teenagers are compatible with the whole highschool setting. The creators, being adults, have all obviously been through high school before and as such have plenty to look towards for inspiration. Schools have multiple opportunities to do interesting activities while you're there, and as such it offers opportunities for changes of scenery to add obstacles for the characters to conquer.

They're also where a lot of your first experiences will happen. Making an office job in a cubicle or something seem interesting is quite a bit more difficult, and I've only seen 1 show about that, despite how it kept me entertained. Even then it had the sort of highschool-ish feel but with adults. It doesn't offer much opportunity to show interesting things going on. At an average school there are things like P.E., clubs, school trips, but at the average job there's just being sat at a computer, filing papers, things like that, and it's harder to spin things off that keep the audience entertained, especially if you're going for a more realistic route.

An adult cast is to anime what icing is to a cake. On it's own, icing isn't the best thing to eat and you'll go off it pretty quickly, but add it to the awesome that is the cake and it's that much more enjoyable. Honestly, the whole 'teenagers cast' thing won't stop until something that sells better comes along, or interest dies off.

EDIT: A few more I can think of that don't use HS aged protagonists:

PlanetES, Baccano!, Stein's;gate, The Big O, GitS, Monster, Ergo Proxy, Arakawa, Hellsing, Wandering Son (if younger counts), Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Rec, Texhnolyze, Paranoia Agent, Polar Bear Cafe (do animals count?)

there are Josei shows? Where? please?

You can watch Natsuyuki Rendezvous on Crunchy

There are a lot of anime with adults and young adults (seinen) focus. There is usually an anime for every audience group every season. You just need to look harder.
