I really need to find a way stop watching anime. I can't resist watching new anime. I am in college, and my grade are going down a lot. I promised myself not watch any more anime once the fall 2013 season is finish. But I can't, I got hooked when I watch the first episode of some new anime. And darn it, I get hooked again :(

First, try bookmarking the shows you want to watch per season and those you are currently watching, put off watching anime as you are used to, and then marathon or watch them when you have some free-time.

Note shows like Onepeice, that run season after season, are okay to watch since putting them off would be a nightmare to marathon. Another option is to just drop series like them, and focus on shorter, more easy to digest shows. This can also be said for certain types of games.

You're an adult now, so it's time to start scheduling!

Do not stop watching anime. You will probably be much worse off. If anything, watch a mind destruction anime such as steins gate (this should motivate you).

The only way to stop is to watch it all.

If the sole reason you want to stop watching anime is to get your grades up, then there really is no need to stop because the root of the problem is that you arent doing a good job managing your time. If you just stop watching anime, but you still are doing a crap job with time management, then you will just end up replacing whatever time you normally spend watching anime with some other time killing activity that probably wont help with your grades either.

Give your computer a once over in an MRI machine.
Or you can ask your local network administrator to block your computer from accessing all non-school approved sites,
Or you can budget your time
Or you can exercise willpower
Or you could employ a good ol' classical style faustian power grab.

Manage your time better, I'm a college student too but I find that doing as much work as I can during the lesson helps, I also have a rule about college and home which is the moment college finishes no more work but that's only because I do it during the lesson. My tips are;
1. Reward yourself with anime when finishing an assignment or homework
2. try to do as much work during college as you can it really helps

3. if these fail just watch anime in the morning before lessons (depends if you start early or late) and in the evenings after finishing work

Hope these help you but it's also dependant on your attitude to work as in will you finish the work or just slack off.

It can be done but I agree with post #2 stopping watching anime is like losing. Instead you just have to find a way to limit yourself the good news is with CR you can watch anime whenever you want you dont have to watch a a certain time when it airs like on TV. Just make use of that and watch stuff when you can.make anime your reward for finishing your work.I'm a full time college student and I manage my grades well and have time for gaming manga and anime. My best advice I can give you is scheduling is your best friend. I don't watch TV anymore I only watch CR and Hulu for everything services like that will help your scheduling

Do what I did.
First instead of burdening yourself by watching large amounts of anime, watch newer unfinished anime.
This will give you a week after watching it; to do work.

I have done this with One Piece where I'll not watch a new episode for a month of so and when I return to it, I have four hours of entertainment for when I become bored.

Maybe restraint? I have no problems with my own mental awareness. If I can control it, surely more people can.
