Simple, don't turn on the computer /monitor...that or watch an episode of Beyblade, that should make you want to gouge your eyes out and never watch anything again.

You can't stop watching anime. You will never stop even if you want. Once you are in the fandom there's no leaving it. You are one with anime and anime is one with you. You are one of us and there's no denying it. Welcome to your new life, we hope you have fun.

I've been in social circles and work environments where people are not anime-friendly. It doesn't do the trick. Im still addicted to it like crack during my spare time at home.

You could just ditch your internet connection if nothing else works...

Just tell yourself you grades are what will impact your future and that you should focus on them instead. Anime is just something to watch during your free time and several years from now if you're not still watching it, you'll probably regret spending so much time with it during the times when you should have been doing your homework. lol If you really enjoy watching it, don't just stop. Just find a way to manage your time. I used to have the same problem.

Try to limit yourself on how many episodes a day you watch. Each episode is about 25-30 minutes long, do the math and set a time each day to watch the shows you like. I know the feeling of wanting(needing) to watch the next episode, but right now you have other thing you need to be focusing on and spending your time on too. You don't have to completely stop watching what you obviously like. Watching anime is a hobby which if you stop you'll just find something else to take up your time and you'll be right back where you started.

Instead of targeting anime, buckle down and find a more effective way to study and manage your time. It sounds like you need to develop your self control and keep your priorities straight. If your grades are going down, spend less time watching anime and more time studying. There is no miracle cure for poor self control. Prioritize grades over all else, but don't expect to maintain a 4.0 if you want to have a life in addition to school. You could stop watching anime, but I guarantee you will find something else to consume your time.

I am in my third year with a 3.5 gpa and will graduate on time with a degree in fruit and vegetable management. I watch a lot of anime. I cook all my meals from scratch, and (usually) manage to put in 75+ miles a week on my bikes when the weather cooperates. When I fall behind in school, I only have myself and poor time management to blame. Anime, cooking, or my other hobbies are not the cause.

I really need to find a way stop watching anime. I can't resist watching new anime. I am in college, and my grade are going down a lot. I promised myself not watch any more anime once the fall 2013 season is finish. But I can't, I got hooked when I watch the first episode of some new anime. And darn it, I get hooked again :(

There's really no need to quit watching anime. Just learn to manage your time. I'm in college as well, but I'm doing just fine with watching anime and doing homework.

Just dedicate maybe a day to watching anime, or something, but leave the rest of the week for work? I usually watch stuff on Saturdays or Friday night if I'm not out having a social life.

You like to use absolute words, but I'm pretty sure you should probably stop doing that. It cheapens them.

It's not "can't", it's "won't", not "need" but "want", and not "got hooked" but "enjoyed".

If you can still use the same sentence to explain your school issues, that's fine. But, my guess is you use those words because you want to tell yourself there is no choice.

Choice is scary, isn't it? Adults have many choices. So many, so scary, some remain children all their lives. They pretend they don't have them. They bumble though life, clinging to excuses so they won't have to take the blame for what they do.

good luck with school, or whatever you decide to do.
