It creates a whole new world with each series, that you get to live in. Though most of them are extremely dangerous and I'm absolutely happy I don't live there, it is interesting.

Even seemingly similar worlds, like Kuroko no Basuke. Many people may see the explanations they give as some pseudo-scientific nonsense, but I see it as being a different world than ours, one where such is possible and happens.

Wait, based on your post, are you asking "Why did you start watching Anime?" or
"why do you still watch it?"

For the first one: I was a huge Pokemon addict as a kid, and as I grew up I kept loving it, then hearing about other Anime I gave them a try and liked them a lot, then around 2 years ago, when I finally got internet, while looking up Pokemon vids on YouTube I found out there also adorable and romantic Anime out there other than just cool, action ones(I've always liked cuteness). Became very hyped, and got addicted to Anime.

second one: Because I enjoy it....I know that there has to be a deeper reason to it, but I'm not the type of person to figure out things like that. I like it so I watch it, that's enough of a reason for me.

I'm a huge fan of stories in general, and there are a lot of good stories out there in anime format. I tend to get emotionally invested in the stories, worlds and characters to the point that I often feel empty after finishing a series, but I still really enjoy getting like that. For the more sketch-show style animes, it needs to either be really funny, or really well-animated for me to get into, but I otherwise tend not to enjoy that type of thing.

Watching anime, and reading graphic novels, mangas, novels and watching cartoons are all the same thing to me - just stories presented in different formats.

Because I enjoy it. You don't need any other reason.

I watch it because the many cliches and tropes of anime bother me less than the cliches and tropes of American and British television. Also, I don't have a cable or satellite service, and I wouldn't know what to start watching if I were to get Netflix. I know anime enough to at least know basics about most anime studios, voice actors, and directors. While I do know a decent amount about Hollywood movie directors, I know next to nothing about tv directors, and I know even less about American and British production studios. Anime is just easier for me to hop in and enjoy.

Cartoon/anime is just another medium of entertainment, to me. I like art, music, and stories. Anime/cartoons just happen to often satisfy my cravings of all three.

For me, it's kind of weird. I used to view Anime as a very strange type of medium while I was growing up. Part of what can attribute to this, I think, is that my first Manga was the adaptation of the first Kingdom Hearts game (Which was done in an art style I hadn't really seen before, not to mention having a ton of untranslated sound effects littering the pages, mixed with its weird humor), and my first Anime was Spirited Away. Granted, it's not a bad film, (and one I actually want to see fully at some point) but it certainly was way over my head and was actually somewhat scary in some scenes, to the point where I only got a third of the way in. Ironically, I loved Avatar the Last Airbender, which was very heavily influenced by Anime.

However, as I got older, I started to appreciate the art, characters, stories, and overall radically different tones it had compared to Western Animation and Comics. I guess to sum this all up, even though the foreign aspect of it drove me away at first, it eventually became the major contributor for me enjoying it.

Escapism started it for me. For several years I spent a lot of time in the hospital. During one 2 mo. stay I found anime. It helped pass the time and made so much, much, more bearable.

The best usually have a story that requires telling over time. I look for interesting story and well developed characters. If after watching something it feels like only 5 minutes have passed when in reality it was a normal length eposide. Looking forward to more like that.

Now days my husband of 38 years has developed a small interest and he watches Toonami. And a couple grandkids watch a few things.

I find that it contains a lot of elements that any other kinds of shows don't and I enjoy those, as well as that I just like the style and animation.
