What Anime has left you with a void?
Posted 2/19/14
Well, I remember watching Rosario + Vampire and Dance in the Vampire Bund, those were amazing. <3 I especially enjoyed all the comedic and sexual outputs in the vampire anime and how Tsukune was a real man. Especially DITVB, I was so sad when there was only 1 season produced and there's no second season in production. The last episode of the anime really fucked me over and I really wanted it to continue and see how everything went for Akira. ):

Tenchi Muyo War on Geminar. It was such a better anime then the third OVA yet it ends without answering any of the other big questions

Coincidentally I just gave up on watching that show (stopped on episode 7). After that mechamaster got 'abducted', asked to meet with the bandits leader, and then slept with her for some reason I just couldn't take the show anymore. I just felt like it was such a dumb anime. (No offense by using dumb, it just didn't feel like anyone put a lot of heart into it)

holy crap you picked the single worst episode to stop at.....it got alot better after that

for me it's High School of the Dead it stopped at the start of the best arch in the Manga

There are a lot of good anime, but Clannad and Angel Beats had the most emotional impact on me. It really proved to me how anime is the real deal and how western shows really can't compete.

Toradora
Usagi Drop
Pet girl of sakurasou
Bakemonogatari (void filled up with the following seasons )
Kenichi
Hanasaku Iroha
Kokoro Connect
Zetsuen no Tempest
Suki-tte Ii na yo (mainly because it was the first shoujo I had ever watched)

and some others.. but after watching lots of anime It doesn't happen as much, but instead I can now appreciate anime even more and not feel depressed because it ended, but feel happy because it happened (sort of speak). Well you can always learn something from good stories that's what I believe. and of course sometimes I wish there was more but I can only wish.. and move on

Haruhi Suzumiya (I filled it with the Light Novels, but it wasn't the same)
Sword Art Online (Same as Haruhi with Light Novels)

Other than that..I don't know. There have been a bunch of Rom-Coms that ended completely unfinished like: Ouran High School, Maid Sama, Kare Kano, School Rumble, My Little Monster, and Say I Love You. But I wasn't so attached that I felt a large void, just a little disappointed I couldn't see any more.

After this latest season of Minami-Ke I felt a bit of a slice of life void because I really love that show. I hope there will be a season 5 (or whatever it is counting the OVA's) at some point.

Will Haruhi Suzumiya ever get another season? Or movie? I really don't want the anime characters to stop there.

The spinoff manga that pretty much amounts to:
from the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie was greenlit for production. Other than that, I wouldn't count on seeing anything further at any point in the near future. And I have my doubts for the long term as well. It sucks, but what can you do? Even the Light Novel series has been on a standstill for years now.

Dang. The spinoff premise is cool I guess but I almost don't really care about that scenario at the same time. I just want a continuation of the story. Oh well, Haruhi Suzumiya was a 'weird' series to begin with. If it just left off at that 'weird' spot in the anime then it kinda fits the series anyways I guess.

I also recently finished Welcome to the NHK, that show has an amazing support cast, I hated the main the character so much though, nevertheless the show does bring light to the life of a shut in.

Little Busters! still bothers me when I think of how it ended (and that was a month ago). Makes me feel sad that I never had anyone that cared that much to that extent about me. Though the underlying goodness of it still makes me want to re-watch it.

As the title states what anime has had a left you with a void when finishing the series? To clarify for those who don't understand the meaning of the void, it's basically the after effect of watching an amazing series. The void takes place and you come to the realization that you just finished watching a show you thoroughly enjoyed, the adventures, the drama, the romance, has all concluded you no longer have anything to look forward to. In your despair you begin to ask yourself "Will I ever watch something as amazing as this ever again???".

I'm sure many of us who watch a lot anime know exactly what this feels like I'm just curious to know what show has left this kind of impact on you. Of course the solution to filling that void is fairly simple, just start watching another anime but anyways lets get straight to the list making.

Heres my list:

Clannad AS
Eureka Seven
Gurren Lagann
Hyouka
The Pet Girl of Sakurasou
Toradora!

Eureka 7 and Hyouka definitely left a void! Mostly due to Hyouka feeling incomplete though : / The anime that left the worst void I've ever experience was Skip Beat! Man oh man i didn't watch anime for a week after that. I was so pissed.

HYOUKA!!! my goodness that show was so good, it lived such a short life Watching them solve mysteries was so fun to watch and that ending was such a tease

Eureka Seven... that show was such an adventure it's definitely a must watch if you're an anime fan.

Does that include "Little Busters Refrain!"? because the ending to that show was...let's just say there were too many feels.
