Gingitsune, but I'm conflicted on whether I want it to return or not. It was an excellent series with cute characters, but not too over the top like most anime. It almost comes across as the most reserved series I've seen. It ended after a very brief 12 episodes, and I want more, but at the same time, I think it kinda ended perfectly. I'm not sure where it could go from there.

It was a very short and sweet series, but if it had like 6 more episodes it might have made the void more smaller than it did. I was watching Gingitsune back to back with Log Horizon, until I temporarily dropped the latter due to conference boredom. After a while I've been watching the two year old My Ordinary Life series for my slice-of-life fix, back-to-back with Log Horizon which I recently picked back up again.

AnoHana

Madoka Magica

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai

Don't want to state ongoing/incomplete shows since my feelings on them might change.

Eureka 7 is one of the best! I only found out about it because adult swim was playing the dub on cartoon network. i was interested in the romance so I decided to give the sub a look. A really good decision! The ending on that one was complete and all but I would've liked more closure.

Out of curiosity, you did watch the movie right? If you really think about it, it's not all that bad of a note to end on since it was pretty ridiculously epic. Probably my favorite anime movie of all time really.

Yep! It was pretty dang good. It really was the best anime film I've seen. Heck I guess even the anime ended on a good note which could have been the 'ending'. I just want to see more of their adventures and hear more Kyon's inner monologues.

Most recent ones were Flowers of Evil and Texhnolyze. I so badly want to see more Flowers of Evil animated but it'll never happen. And Texhnolyze, that was just a punch to the gut.

AnoHana and Madoka Magica. I felt pretty depressed after they both ended (considering the endings aren't particularly happy either).

The biggest void for me was Code Geass and for me, Death Note was too different to fill that void. Also, I did get one for a while after finishing the seventh Kara no Kyoukai. DN Angel too bacuse I dodn't really like the ending and felt that it could have been done better.

Two words: Code. Geass.

Nothing, nothing can fill that void.

Maaan, everybody suggesting "Code Geass' needs to go watch anything with the name "Gundam" or "Macross" in it.
Or hell, go watch anything studio Sunrise has made, BAMN. More of the same. Code Geass was damn great, but it's so heavily based upon previous works, you can fill the void with anything they made, for serious I say!
That said, most people don't want to take the time and watch those shows....which I say THEN IT'S NOT REALLY A VOID!

I've just caught up to the current end-point of the Anime "Kingdom" which was set to fill in the void "Berserk" has left in me.

And it did a really good job UP TO THE POINT THAT IT'S NOT THAT FAR ALONG YET, ergo, it's reached the cut-off point before I was able to fully enjoy it.

So yeah, looking to fill that Epic-Battles-and-Plot's Void again.

I forgot to mention Fullmetal Alchemist (both 2003 and 2009). Right now I'm watching Silver Spoon and it is helping a little bit.
