Have you ever dropped a show so you could marathon it after it finished?

This doesn't count as dropping. You are just postponing watching the show until later. And yes, I've done that on occasion.

I only ever do this with ones which I don't get emotionally invested in (otherwise I just have to watch the next episode as soon as possible).

If I watch an incomplete anime which I get addicted to, I usually wind up reading through the manga (or whatever it's adapted from if it's not an original series), since I get too into the story to stop so soon. However, with Attack on Titan, I couldn't bring myself to read the manga because the story and how intensely it was adapted were just so good that the manga would probably ruin the anime for me. I think that's the equivalent thing for me.

Not really, not even for my favorites. Though I never drop anything. If I do "drop" one, I always make sure to go back to it later and finish it little by little.
Though this season there is one, but not really for marathoning, but waiting for blurays- ImoCho. Those freaking censors are annoying as hell!!!! Even the cliched mysterious light-san would be appreciated at this point.

Very busy with work & school so I am currently only keeping up with Kill La Kill & Golden time. I dropped Super Sonico after episode 3 but i do intend to catch up once spring break comes around :)

I'm actually doing this for Kill la Kill and Golden Time, specifically, too. lol. I'm on ep 19 on both of them, though. You think it's ever too late to drop and marathon after they're done?

Lol well you are on episode 19, so the suspense would kill you especially if you stopped watching Kill La kill

Any show I watch I tend to usually wait till it is finished to marathon the whole thing. It is my preference. I can probably count on one hand the amount of shows I watched on-line on a weekly basis. I just hate waiting weekly. XD

I started watching Nagi no Asukara. Got up to episode 6 or so and decided that I'd prefer to be able to marathon it, so I'm waiting now. I also waited to marathon the last six episodes of Monogatari Second Season.

I don't have a huge problem with waiting for the new episode each week, but with some anime, I just really want to get fully immersed, and only a marathon can deliver that experience. It takes an impressive series to get me to put it on hold like that, and I usually only do it for emotional or otherwise character-driven ones. Action and comedy titles don't lose much from waiting a week, and mysteries get better the longer you have to wait.

I watch week to week and when it's complete i marathon it. I can't bring myself to put a show on hold even though i prefer marathons. The exception is shows like Strike the Blood that run 'arcs' of 4 episodes. Then i (sometimes) wait four weeks and maraton the arc to prevent cliffhangers.
The worst problem is that i don't feel like i have to wait a day for a new episode (in another series) but i feel like i'm waiting a week - times 8. It's torture.
