Let me tell you, GO WATCH BACCANO. Watch it with the English dub. Just watch it. Its like 10 episodes long and is nigh-perfect.

Please, give it a shot.

One day. Maybe. I have been having a hard time getting into anime lately so I don't know if it will be anytime soon. It's at least floating around in my possession digitally so there is a higher chance of it happening. Maybe if I ever bring my laptop to the hospital with me again I will watch it to kill time.

I need to know: Is Squid Girl just some derpface thing that everyone pretends to love like MLP use to be, or is it really worth watching?

In my opinion, it's worth watching if you enjoy that sort of show. If you aren't big on slice of life or even comedy anime, then keep looking for something better. But Squid Girl really is stupid though, though I guess that's why it's fun to watch.

Fair enough. I know what you mean about having a hard time. I took a couple weeks off from anime a few months ago after I watched all of Hajime No Ippo in a week. THAT was an interesting experience.

I watch only a very few shows when they come out each week. I have a long list of anime added to my queue but I just glance at it and decide I can't be bothered. Only show I was able to marathon recently was the 7? 8? episodes of Witch Craft Works. That show has so many things that cracked me up. Once I watched all that was available though I was back to just the "meh" feeling with anime lol.

That's really cool, thanks.

So guys, what anime would you show your kids if and when you have any? No easy ones like Pokemon either.

If I have a daughter, I would show her Spice and Wolf. If I had a son, that'd be too easy with Fairy Tail....

I grew up with anime so let me list some old school ones I remember which fit all ages:

- Mazinger Z
- Candy Candy
- Fables of the Green Forest
- Honeybee Hutch
- Adventures On Rainbow Pond
- Peter Pan: The Animated Series
- Mahou no Princess Minky Momo
- Alps no Shoujo Heidi
- SF Saiyuuki Starzinger
- speed racer

Aww, that's cute.

Fun fact; there are actually about 100 episodes of Hajime No Ippo that aired before the season that is on CR right now.

I watched that so I could watch the episodes coming out now.

Yeah, I like watching shows as they air. I have like, 19 I am watching this season.

I will say, you have excellent taste. Witch Craft Works is one of my favorite shows this season, mostly just for how great the ED is but also because it is really funny.

I like Slice-of-Life, and I really enjoy comedy, AND I have been up all night, so it sounds like I will be marathoning Squid Girl later today. Depending on my level of consciousness I may come back to this thread and write a review of it.

Yeah, I like that idea. Start a series...Mike's Semi-Conscious Reviews. I like the ring of that.

Edited to add:

Dammit, the mods got rid of that spam post. I really wanted to make a post about how even the bots where getting into the swing of things on this hijacked thread.

Also, we might need some Spider-Man.

I have mixed feelings about going through that many episodes in a short time. I love being able to watch so much of it so quickly without having to wait. But I don't care for the zombie-ish feeling from doing it along with the fact that the more I enjoy it the more sad I will be when it is done. Watching shows as they air is nice because there is something to look forward to and yet aggravating since it is such a long wait at the same time.

The list I currently watch each week is much smaller than that. I only have about 5 shows I keep up with.

Thanks and yeah, the show is great. Can't say much about the overall story but the gags and references they throw in make it worth it. That ending is one of the only ones I actually bother to watch though. I just can't help but smile and stare when it comes on. Torture never looked so great.

Yeah, I definitely crashed after watching that many episodes. However, that series is not one where I want to take it slow, just because it is such a FUN show to watch that taking it slow would almost defeat the purpose.

I think marathoning series depends more on how you watch anime. If you are a, "I heard this is cool. I'm going to watch the whole thing" (like me :D) kind of anime fan, then marathoning comes natural. However, if you are the kind that likes to take it slow and, for lack of a better term, prolong the magic, then marathoning isn't something that you will want to do.

I mainly marathon shows jut because I am an impatient fucker (which may have something to do with why I have so many goddamn shows to watch every week), but I definitely know that it probably isn't the best way to view them.

Oh, and Chibi Torture needs to be a thing. I want to see some fan-art from the community ASAP.

I've noticed the same pattern: Most people think that they're automatically entitled to the title "Parent" after they have squeezed out a sack of meat, then think that they're doing a decent job at parenting as long if they keep giving the children shelter, and food on the table, as if that's good enough, then they think that it's ok to hand-over their kids to their grandparents and other babysitters all the time because they're "tired". These kids are basically robbed of their teachers and rolemodels; their guide in life, their counselor, their guardian, from the moment of birth. The reason why I don't ask the question "Why?" is because I already know the answer to it, and it's depressing. Making a thread about it, is unfortunately not going to make anyone more aware of it, in fact, most people will still think of it as ok even when you describe to them in great detail the severity of the abuse that they put their children through.

I'm impatient as well for new episodes but I still get sad when it's done. I also only marathon shows that I end up liking. If I plan on watching a bunch of it but hate it then I'm done and have moved on to the next thing.

Because it got hijacked and turned into something better by a few people.
