well I don't have a problem with ether one but I actually run fedora on my system. I get paid to help fix peoples computers with windows 7/8 I don't get paid to fix my computer. plus it's really easy to break into a computer running windows 7 (thanks Microsoft)

yep already have another system running xubuntu. although frankly most Linux distros just are not ready for prime time as a desktop os and are much better suited to use as a media server etc. personally if there is one thing I hate about the new versions of Ubuntu it's the annoying and evil Unity stuff. hence why i use the Ubuntu SE live CD from time to time. Ubuntu SE uses the trusty GNOME 2 desktop environment without the Unity fluff.

I've been using 7 since early beta (when it still looked like Vista *shudder*) and I've come to love that glorious sombitch. I did the same with 8, and the drastic change really put me off. I'm sure if I had been using a tablet (or alike) I might have a different view of it. I could see where the title thing has a place in such devices. But, ultimately, I use a PC for gaming and graphics applications. A tablet in no way suites my needs. I'll stick with 7 for as long as possible.

I love Win 8. I don't understand why it gets such a bad rap. Sure, it takes a bit of getting used to, and yes, it does function better on touch-enabled devices, but I don't think that makes it a bad OS. It's good at what it does. It could be better, but I've had no major problems with it, and I do like the Metro/Live Tile/whatever layout.

The major reason I like Win 8 over Win 7 is the boot time, quite frankly. I turn my computer off a lot. I like that with Win 8, it is back up and running in a few seconds, whereas with previous versions of Windows, I'd have to wait a couple minutes. It's a small thing, yes, but it matters to me.

There are also people who don't like the fact that they don't have a start button, but many don't know that you can download a program to get that start button back *cough* *cough* I do like the fact that I can right click the lower left corner and get access to all of the administrator programs very quickly, it makes it easier to help fix problems with network connectivity and hardware problems.

Windows 7 currently, but I will switch to Windows 8 sooner or later.

I don't hate the Windows 8 Metro design but I don't agree with setup.
While I do enjoy using the keyboard and shortcuts more - the searching method is a bit dumb in my opinion.

People are too lazy and adamant to break out of their comfort zone and try something new. Windows 8 is much faster for me and not even hard to get use to. Windows 9 is coming though

if ants didn't kill it, I'd still have a computer running on windows 95

7.

I want to know who the heck came up with the idea for Windows 8 because it looks UGLY and like a DANG TABLET! If I wanted a tablet, I'd get a DANG TABLET!

neither, i'm tired of them inventing new layout and functions.

as humans, we want things that feel intuitive, we don't want to look up every time we need to find something. hate microsoft for always doing this. stick to the same layout ffs. improve the graphics or whatever, just keep the layout the same, is that too much to ask?

I'm so used to Windows 7 and when I got my new laptop which had Windows 8 I was so confused~~ I've been using Windows 8 for a good 2 months now and I still don't get how to use it..It's really inconvenient to me.
