I have more experience with Windows 7, and fixing problems with Windows 7. Only touched Windows 8 once before, to fix an issue with it. I've also played around with it for a couple of minutes at Best Buy.t. I'm sure after spending a couple of days with it, I could get used to it.

feels like Windows 8 came out of nowhere. My vote goes to Windows 7.

I've been using the pre-release candidates of Windows Vista, 7 and 8 so I really don't have any problem with them. I've had to find my way around them before most people get a chance to. I do BOINC computing and use my PC's for DVRs to Photoshop platforms while running them 24/7 for science. The thing I noticed is 8 seems to run faster than 7 but 8 has weird quirks depending on what motherboard/CPU/GPU/RAM combos you use. I could run XP out of a 32GB hard-drive and I find it doesn't work too well with anything after that.

I have not tried solid-state drives yet but since I've seen 60GB drives for about $55 it's getting time to try one.

8 is the easiest to install. It seems to have all the drivers it needs and it finds it's own way onto the internet, (wi-fi, you still have to input all the user/pass stuff). You don't seem to need the driver disc for any motherboard or peripheral you plug in...

8 would even run on my old DFI LanParty board with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ . . . no driver disc needed. It will not let me upgrade to 8.1, something I find strange. If you try to install it (8.1) on a PC that doesn't meet some of the requirements it will not even load set-up.
I've been able to load Windows 8/8.1 on my PCs that are about six or seven years old and they run better than they did with XP.

It's all a matter of getting used to it.

Windows 8 is hated for it's new "metro" layout, did you enjoy it or you'd rather stick to windows 7 ?
Did you know that you can download Classic Shell and not have to use the new "metro" layout ?

Thanks for the link. I will install the Classic Shell the moment I buy a new laptop that uses Windows 8. I've tried Windows 8 before. I don't like its layout. It is too confusing. I don't see any advantages of Windows 8 over 7.

Windows 7 was awesome until I moved into the Windows 8.1. I like it, and it's not as difficult as many make it seem.
It's cleaner, faster, and lighter.

Many a time, useless files, spyware and junk files find their way into your system even without you being aware of it. Salution is that you need to use Krojam Cleaner for Speed up your pc.

You guys need to understand Windows 8 now has a setting to go into classic menu's. Windows 8 is a better optmized windows 7 now when you add the classic menu's.

No reason to not get 8.
But honestly i like the new menu's i have gotten used to them. But once agian no reason not to get 8 anymore.

Exactly. Windows 8 has improved immensely and could now easily be considered superior to Windows 7 at this point.

I choose Windows 8 than 7 because it's more easier and simpler to use.
