7's more traditional, but it's old and you can feel it.

8's got a sweet deal going on because it's an OS, but because it also doubles as a mobile OS, I can install mobile apps for work (I'm looking at you instagram, ya fucker), even if you're using strictly a PC.

I am starting to prefer 8, and once you get used to it, it's responsive by comparison.

What kills me though is that Windows is heading into subscription based territory with 10 I heard.

I think I'm keeping 8 for a loooooong time..

I didn't like Windows 8 when I first started using it, but once you customize it to do the things you want it to do, it's really nice.

As far as the "Metro" stuff goes, you can switch all (or at least most) of it off and revert back to the 'classic' interface if you prefer.

7 is just fine for all the things I need to do on my computer...I'm not much of a hardcore computer nerd so I work and game on the same computer. 7 works well for both.

Windows 8 over every other operating system out there. The simplicity, and more fluid flow of it, the touch screen and the amazing interface, its so fun, I have a hard time using anything else now.

When I got my windows 8, I liked Windows 7 much better. After taking the time to learn how to use the system and fast forward 2 years, I don't really care anymore.

Windows 7.
Windows 8 was just too inefficient for me and didn't run the version of SAM broadcaster I have.
Windows 10 may be a worthy successor? Seems 1/2 promising so far!

I like both. Windows 7 worked great for me, but overall, I still like this sense of simplicity in Windows 8.

Windows 7 but I'm currently on Windows 10 on my laptop, which is a big improvement from 8.1. However, I still feel that 7 is the better choice.

I just got my first Windows laptop today, and have 8.1, so I can't really compare.
