I recently watched and fell in love with AoT series. I've noticed it kind of follows other animes i've seen that the main character Eren reminds me a LOT of Naruto....but anyway from watching this series I've noticed a lot of things. The most obvious is the writer's thoughts of humanity based on the characters, the different walls, and the societies hierarchy though the one thing i have noticed about the characters in particular are there eyes. If you go back and pay close attention to every character there are two different eye types used in the series.
Here's my explanation the main character and all the other character's you would consider to be on the "good" side of things have wide-eyes more open...or "friendly" while the other characters who i consider to be the "bad guys" have small, beady eyes like the king, annie, or the guy that who instructed to kill eren b/c he feared him. ( i forgot his name) The people with the bigger much wider eyes to me are those who are the open-minded ones the one with the "naruto complex" as i like to call it and the others are the ones who are narrow-minded. The only think one way about the Titans. Anyhow, that's just my thoughts. I would like to know your opinion about it????????????

What you said about the eyes applies to nearly all anime with exceptions of course, most of the time the protagonist and the good guys will have larger eyes whilst bad or cold characters will have small wide eyes.

I disagree Eren is like Naruto, Eren is a lot more hate filled and I think Eren has a lot better characteristics than Naruto.

Replying to WRoksana: Agreed. It's just that i never noticed that until i started watching AoT . I keep that in mind as i watch other animes.
My comment about the comparison between Naruto and Eren is that they have the same fiery " I'm-not-going-to-give-up-on-my-dream" persona.
Eren is fueled by his hatred for the Titans but i think his characteristics sometimes does inhibit him throughout the anime but to me Naruto's characteristics actually helped him to go.
Though i say that it's really hard to tell Eren's character development v. Naruto's b/c AoT only has 25 ep. so far, so we can only tell as the series continues....

The main thing that is notable about the eyes in this series is the emphasis they put to make sure you knew the state of mind of the character; despair, rage, hope, grief, pleasure. Without the use of subtitles (for those who don't understand Japanese) or even sound for that matter the artists and story writers made sure you knew exactly what was happening. That is probably the one thing that drew me into this show so badly. I originally started watching it on HULU at about episode 7 and i was so engrossed that i searched for this site and immediately subscribed just to watch one more episode.

Also unless the 2 series were made by the same person/company i don't think it's fair to compare characters in that sense, the way the creators want you to portray them is generally quite different. An example would be anything from CLAMP, they pretty much have the same characters in all their series but alternate the protagonist and setting.

that's dumb. lol what about Levi, or Reiner Braun, or General Pixis? Tat dude that was ordering to shoot was Kit Verman I think, but he's Clearly just being portrayed as a coward, duhh. It's not about good guy/bad guy, it's more about displaying their personalities. and honestly, naruto and attack on titan are so completely different, I don't understand why you'd compare them in the first place
