So yeah, a lot of my friends are into sports and there are like online stream things where groups of people chat and watch sports, i was wondering if there's anything like that for anime? I love watching anime as much as the next guy but it gets a little dull on your own, its nice to chat to people at the same time :).

Just to clarify its like we all watch the anime at the same time and discuss while watching it.

I'm not sure about this but i also thought this always would be a cool idea. I've always pictured in my mind like a Group that Designates a certain time of the week where they'll all watch the same episode and have a IM system where we could all comment during and after the show. Would be fun

It's sounds kind of like an Anime club of sorts. Only this is more of a virtual viewing than a local one. Could probably do group voice chat over Skype or Google Hangout. It would probably be better if you could synchronize the watching event directly on Crunchyroll.

I was thinking perhaps setting up a forum thread where people can join the event if they wish, and a time where they are free, the time zone etc, then everyone can select a anime via crunchyroll and just synchronize the watching together :), skype is a good call, or team speak if necessary

You can always embed the CR player onto your website, However I don't know how the embedded CR player works since I've never used it.

Every time a new episode of a series is made available (for free members, I think), CR run a simulcast whereby the episode is streamed with a live chat. Keep an eye out for it.

I do this a lot on the 360 app, I get a group of friends usually just 2 - 3 in a party and we each pause at 3 seconds in the video and do a countdown of when to play the episode and we have watched Attack on Titan like this, I tried getting them to watch Hunter x Hunter but they refuse to agree its awesome because they think Naruto beats all other adventure anime.

A actual method of simultanious streaming would be an awesome addition though.

I just think people could go somewhere with theres, its clearly a niche that nobody that has met, and the anime community is one of the most friendly communities i have ever seen really, it would be good to do this kind of thing gets the community together and at the same time people can meet like minded people for friendships, i might see how difficult it would be to do a website like this, and see what the process would be to imbed a universal anime player into the site, i presume legally it would be rather awkward

I know that in my highschool there an anime club and once or twice a week we'd go in a class with a projector and watch a couple episodes of different animes.

I don't know. I tend to be more into my shows when I watch it alone, otherwise I end up talking throughout the show. Although, I have had anime One Piece sessions with my siblings when my brother and I were trying to get my sister to watch it. That was fun because I've already seen the episodes prior to getting my sister to watch it, so I didn't mind having discussions in between episodes. Plus, singing the opening and ending theme songs are more fun when you're not singing all by yourself!

I used to have a group of friends that would watch anime at the same time and talk over skype, and occasionally all watch at someone's house. I didn't join them often, I just couldn't get into the show as much as when I watch it alone. (They weren't particularly close friends, a group I was kind of half-included in.)
I'm fairly sure there are also online-communities that do the same over skype or similar chat service. If you look around anime forums I'm sure you can find a group, or ask around and make your own group.

Yes there are.

Sites like Justin TV have channels where anime is streamed live and there is a chat room.
