Testifying Against a Friend
Posted 2/27/14 , edited 2/27/14
In this situation, you have no obligation to "help" him by lying... And it looks like you already have your answer since you said: "I don't feel like taking this bullet. He knew the risks of his medicine with alcohol and he smashed the window. I have plans of my own and I don't want to put myself at risk here."

In a situation like that i would have my friends back no questions asked.
If he would have beaten up a person it would be a different story but if its just a window i would have his back.

However i would have to take into consideration what impression i might have given off to the police that came if i was obviously not very drunken chances are pretty high that the Officers will remember that and i would get into serious trouble.

On a side note while i would always have my friends back for stuff like that they also would never ask me to do such a thing.
You do not ask a real friend for such a thing!

Having said that i wonder is he really your friend?
You didnt offer to have his back and he put you in a bad spot...honestly it doesn't sound like a real friendship to me.

DON'T EVER RAT ON A FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just calmly explain that you cant remember the events of that night..... Don't lie... Just leave out the incriminating parts

Even if he did that it would be kind of hard to avoid the questions that would follow considering he told the police everything and thus it would be in the police report.

LOL... so true, thats why you never talk to the police if you or your friends do illegal stuff.... they tend to write shit down and then bring it up at a later date... just like girlfriends

It's not worth having friends, especially ones like that, so I say sell him down the river.

I'd just be honest.

He sounds pree violent to me and irresponsible.

Who knows what he'll do next?

Just be aware that when he gets out of jail or something, you gotta carry a gun with you as you approach the door when he comes knocking at your door.

Safety precautions.

GOOD LUCK!

Don't lie in court. It will make things worse in the long run.

Lying is the worse possible thing you can do.
Tell him to man up and just accept his punishment.

Was in court today and told the truth. He now has to pay a fine but things were actually okay between us after. He just had to take responsability.

So thanks again for all advice.
