This again?

If you don't think the shows available to you are worth paying for, don't pay for them and just watch stuff as a free user.

You could always wait for it to be watched for free and binge watch. I did that for crap like Attack on Titan and Kill la kill

Being serious though, it's all due to licensing. CR probably has a harder time licensing shows in Europe or other parts of the world, being based in the states as it is. There is more legal terms and other technobabble that could be said... but this is like the third thread I have seen with this topic in the last month alone...

Catch 22 Crunchyroll would probably need more UK/European subscribers to warrant the expense of the licence purchase(if available) but do people want to subscribe at the moment with the current available line up?. I personally am quite happy with Crunchyroll at the moment, granted one does get peeved after reading the synopsis of a show, then seeing it is not available here. One just hope that will change with time.

The whole "We don't get as much, so we shouldn't pay as much" argument has been gone over multiple times before, along with explanations of why that wouldn't solve anything and other problems it would raise.

In the end, ones needs to decide if what one is getting is worth the money, not "Is someone else getting the more for the same amount (or less)?".

In the US, the anime monthly membership is $6.95 per month.

I know for the US, the membership price as set in January 2009, and hasn't changed since. I expect the same was true for the UK price, and it was likely based on the exchange rate between the pound and the dollar that prevailed at that time.

I do sort of agree with your first part of your post, but I do understand where other UK/European subscribers are coming from, we get about half of the new season's shows.
The cost thing we are all used to that . Obviously there are charges involved in converting currencies back and forth.

"Boohoo I don't know how to proxy"

We could just go back to the time when all the anime you had was a VHS that your smelly friend had let you borrow.

Yeah. The crunchy staff would also tell you that using a proxy is against the "Terms of Service" that you've agreed to when you signed up for the site.

As for you second sentence, my friend smelled good though. "LAWL"

Actually I do not know how to proxy, I have no need to hide where I am, so haven't been interested in such things. Please don't laugh at me but I do not know if its even legal.

If I may add my two cents: In all honesty, I don't watch as much on here as I perhaps ought to justify my purchase, I have a tendency to torrent my anime so I can download it and watch it on a player of my choice rather than streaming.

Mainly, I have my subscription on here so I can support the licensing and production of anime here in the west. I consider that far more important and a long term investment, the more support for it there is over here, the more will get licensed, the more exposure it has and the more money there is in it for the licenser and producer, the more it'll spread.

I was disappointed to find that I can't watch Bakamonogatari on here, as it's not licensed for the UK (But Nisemonogatari, the 'sequel' for lack of a better term, is), but I consider investing some shineys in support of anime in the west is the most worthwhile expenditure.

That said, I'm of the kind that can acquire it in other ways so I'm not exactly reliant on here for my anime fix, perhaps you'll consider that to be why I'm not so fussed, and in part, perhaps it is, but that's my opinion regardless.
