True neutral

....Actually I guess I am a mix of that along with neutral evil and chaotic neutral. None of them seem to really fit all that well.

Definitely Chaotic Neutral is what I would like to say but when I took a test it gave me Chaotic Evil soooooooooo yea.

A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it.

Probably I'd say chaotic neutral.

Who wants to party with me? Want to see what happens when we hit the dungeon with the big-arsed dragon and I see that pretty magical artifact I've heard the rumors of?

I've taken an in-depth alignment quiz before, and I'm True Neutral, though I have significant chaotic and mild good leanings.

True Neutral fits me perfectly, because while my practical philosophical standpoint is basically chaotic good (I value autonomy over everything else, and believe that everyone should be able to make their own choices as long as they're not messing with anyone else's), I'm more interested in my hobbies and personal projects to act towards that ideal. I have a set of principles I generally adhere to, but don't consider principles themselves to be all that important: in point of fact, the best use for them, from my point of view, is to fuel interesting debates.

I can and will change my mind spontaneously in order to lead a conversation into more interesting territory, and I can and will argue a stance that I have no investment in so that everyone involved can look at the issue in more detail. Belief is a means to an end, and the end is interesting ideas. Having an actual, definite opinion, to me, seems pointless, because it limits the philosophical space I can put myself in. In that respect, I'm definitely True Neutral, because I consider the alignment spectrum itself something to be explored and investigated in full.

So somewhere between Neutral Good and Chaotic Good?

Usually lawful good IRL. I really like the "paladin" concept - and I think those conflicts between law and morality are good to have to strengthen one's convictions.

In most RPG's, however, I typically play as something leaning more toward lawful neutral - since that makes for my preferred type of mage character. . But that's neither here nor there.

That likely narrows you down to A ) Good and B ) Nonlawful, so either Neutral Good or Chaotic Good, depending on whether you consider laws and rules to generally get in the way of doing the right thing (Chaotic Good), or think that they're fine in theory but have their flaws and need some work (Neutral Good).
