Has either one of your parents ever called out your full name if you got in trouble?

Damn right. I am a parent and I never put my stepdaughter through anything that I would not do and I never, ever lied to her.

Or, I do hope, avoided pressuring her into anything. No matter the choices we make, it is always imperative that we make them independently based on our own versions of what we think is right.

Only my mother when she gets really mad. I would run as fast as I could whenever I hear my full name.

(Then again it's probably why I've turned into a more lazy adult.)

Video games and anime could also be a cause?

I'm lazy too but mostly due to being unemployed and anime ties in a bit.

yeah, it was a persistent concern throughout my childhood, caused some problems in school.

haha yep, i bet those were fun times.

what really sucks too is for children of asian parents, they get a ton of pressure starting from when their super young, it's ridiculous.

That is the other thing I avoided, trying to live my life through her. I suggested stuff like Martial Arts for example but never pressured her. There were times I said no to things. There were times that my wife, her mother would intervene or I would. She learned real fast not to piss us both off at the same time.

As for what we think is right, that is a tough one. I would try to advise her on things or tell her to talk to her mother but sometimes I would have to sit back and just watch the situation implode. On the other hand, she does have a good head on her shoulders.

She did introduce me to Serial Experiments Lain, so it does show she is intelligent. And just in case she is on this forum, hi See!

lol I'm unemployed too. But I think (other than a condition I have) being lazy may be the cause of being unemployed rather than unemployed being the cause of being lazy.-o

They just scream my first name, and that usually does it. My dad is definitely laid back, perhaps a bit too much even. The only time I recall him being upset at me was a few years back; something about behaving and telling me not to knock anyone up, which was weird since I focus on my studies and have never even ventured close to a situation where that may be an outcome. So I think it was a late birds and the bees talk? Either way, it was out of the blue, so I was like: "Umm...ok?" My mom is intimidating but kind. She gets mad at me often, usually for mundane stuff like chores and what not. So, yeah...my parents are a blessing.
