So I have read the manga and watched the anime in the past but that was like a year or two ago.

Then I kind of drifted away from it because sub groups kept changing and so forth.

Now that Crunchyroll is getting One Piece backlog, I'm thinking of rewatching it. But then again I also thinking of rereading it instead.

Now anime and manga are both lengthy, so I don't really want to do both.

Does the anime stick to the manga pretty good?

Which should I do?

Anime, it's only 30 episodes a week, you could easily marathon anime. Plus if you're a subscriber no commercials

Anime definitely, then you can start reading the manga once you catch up to the show ^^ that's was what I did.

I'm only a little bit into the show, and it seems to aside from a few small things.

Yes it does stick to the manga, however the pace is sometimes slow in the anime which does tend to get annoying.

Anime is best for any first time viewer, both the anime/manga are very good, but the manga is better at a certain point near the Whitebeard war range. so I would say start with the anime, then hop to the manga.

Not to spoil but One piece has this series of arcs the builds up to what is called Marineford, which is the climax of part 1, I swapped to the manga around this point since it was dramatically better in my opinion, technically the manga is better from the start except the artwork gets better over time, so its always best to start on the anime until Thriller Bark comes, then its up to you if you do anime or not, but I highly recommend the manga at around Thriller/Sabaody/Marineford range.

Thriller Bark is faar more hilarious if you watch the anime xD, also the anime does an amazing job with the saboady arc (with graphics). But the MarineFord arc is as you say better in the manga.

Note: I have not watched One Piece since like 2006 or 2007. I have also only read bits and pieces of the Manga, nothing fully through.

That said: I am a bigger fan of Manga usually. But that is perhaps I like reading more. But everyone has their own tastes obviously.

I agree but Marineford was really good in the anime too, its just that book versus movie/show debate, I prefer the manga though personally, but the anime made for great AMVs like "This is War" which are awesome.
