Synopsis

With his carthorse as his only companion, the young merchant Kraft Lawrence slowly wends his way through dusty back roads in search of profitable trade. But this monotony screeches to a halt when, one night, he encounters a harvest goddess in the guise of a beautiful young girl…with wolf ears and a tail! Longing for the northern lands of her birth, Holo the Wisewolf joins Lawrence as he follows the ebb and flow of trade through the countryside. And when the two come across a compelling but suspicious opportunity for profit, will Lawrence with his mercantile chops and Holo with her ancient instincts be able to separate the truth from the lies — and make some coin while they’re at it?!

I enjoyed the Anime, and have seen the what I believe to be the Manga at B&N, but it is shrink wrapped so I can't even look at it... they also had a couple of volumes to the LN but some of the later volumes I believe (7 and 10).

I've thought about collecting it though. You know... along with the other two or three dozen or so series I want to collect.

Shrink wrapped for mature content. So the youngins don't go looking through things they shouldn't. (though its not that bad, just a small bit of nudity but if you saw the anime its not much worse than that)
I own the 8 released volumes of manga in English and Japanese (vol 9 will be out in september in the US, and ebayers have it for really expensive in japan), as well as all 10 English light novels.

Spice and Wolf is my all time favorite series :)

It must be the company that releases Spice and Wolf doing it then. Because on another shelf you will see Monster Musume out in the open, and that doesn't have a "small bit" of nudity what so ever. Heck it's only 4 pages in before we see "something" and 5 pages in before its all out.

So it is not B&N at least doing it... that's for sure.

I'm really curious though about the LN's, as I have personally only glanced at them or any others. I might have to think about getting them just to try LN's out and to say I have them. :phew:

I actually bought myself the FMA box set, and it's suppose to have a Novel, so that will probably be my first one when it arrives.

Its definitely Yen Press that does the shrink wrapping on mature content books, since all my Omamori Himari books from yen press came the same way, but I've never had a Seven Seas Entertainment book (like Monster Musume) shrink wrapped for mature content.

But they have also been known to shrink wrap other books too, since one i bought recently was and wasn't a mature content book. So i don't know their full thinking process on it.

I have all spice and wolf light novels up to 10 with 11 coming out next month I think. I started off with the anime then moved on to the novels right after. I enjoy the novels a lot more than the manga and anime because you get a more in depth look on how Lawrence thinks and gives you a better idea on how he solves each crisis. As for the shrink wrap I have only seen it on the manga and sometimes not even then. I guess it is just how each store decides to handle the manga.
