Hell no! also, get the hell out of here! and dogs are man's best friend. My dog was a baby 5 years (also born in the year of the tiger) back and she means a lot to me. If I want last resort food, then I would rather eat earthworms from a bucket of flour.

Rude much? The question asks if eating dogs should be legal, which it is in 44 states. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/man-bites-dog-its-legal-to-eat-dogs-and-cats-in-44-states-101714.html

I meant to say are you kidding me?

When the zombie apocalypse comes, the world turns to shit, and food becomes incredibly scarce, I'd love to see how quickly people would change their tunes. At any rate, I don't think it should be illegal, so long as it's not a pet or domesticated, because clearly there would be a level of responsibility to care for that animal, which... you know... probably wouldn't involve eating it.

Nooo, they don't have enough meat on them, plus people will likely steal your dog from you and eat it. I don't want to go on a murderous rampage of vengeance yet.

My mom is half Indonesian and we used to live there when I was younger. Although Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country (almost 90%), and dog is considered filthy that even a touch of its saliva is forbidden, but for a few ethnic groups in Indonesia (who aren't Muslims) dog is considered a delicacy and often served in special occasion like wedding banquet. I think in China & Vietnam they also eat dogs.

Should eating Cows, Pigs, and Chickens be legal? I like dogs, but in the end they're made out of meat, and people are going to eat them.

We owe them for being humankind's best friends! So NO. It shouldn't be legal!
Why should eating humans be illegal? We're all made up of meat too. Consider that.

I would if I could w/o ending up in up prison. Also, nice logic.

Eating dog meat should definitely NOT be illegal, considering that pork, chicken, cow, deer, moose, rabbit, fish and other animals can all be found in supermarkets and specialty shops. I wouldn't go as far as too say it should be sold in your local super markets, but then again I don't really buy (support) much meat consumption of any sort as I believe it's unethical and an environmental nuisance.
As for being "mans best friend", you can love a chicken or pig just as much as a dog. It's all in the perspective and relation you have on said animal.
