For me, I would have to go with 9/11. It would make for such an emotional story considering how recent this event is and how Americans stopped living that day. The Japanese were impacted by the event in a way as well.

Pretty much any major war could be good. But on that rather than the war itself, the daily lives of people affected by the wars.

Unless you mean in the sense of the "master is the art" and so a biography of him in the genre he created is kinda autobiographical, even if by his ( implied ) students...

I'd like either the Crusades, Alexander the Great, the Opium Wars, Russian Revolution, or the Revolutionary War. Those would seem pretty interesting.
