can't agree on that, the anime definitely missed some parts it took out a Roy x Riza part aaggghh but if you think about it the anime wouldn't have existed without the Arakawa-sensei's amazing work, for me that makes it loads better ^^

I'll agree with Attack on Titan. I actually like the changes it made to the manga. It made everything a little easier to follow and understand. The additions only added to the original story and did not detract.

Sankarea has a very good anime; I think I like its adaption of the manga's first arc more than the manga itself. The anime feels a little darker and is less fanservice-y, which I appreciate.

Hehe The Anime DID SKIP AND TOOK OUT some things. but only the bad parts :P
Arakawa sensei is the best, no argue on that.but Square Enix made a better job in the adaptation than her.Its just the way I see it

FMA Brotherhood was definitely good

Nisekoi is very good so far with only a few rearranges and omitted chapters here and there. Pretty much panel for panel accurate though.

D-Frag, same as with Nisekoi, though from the next episode's preview, it seems like they'll be skipping around much more :/

Witch Craft Works' a very accurate adaptation so far.

The World God Only Knows was fantastic until the cluster*ck that was season 3

Arakawa Under the Bridge was pretty good for both seasons

I suppose Sekirei was a good adaptation

I preferred Dusk Maiden of Amnesia's anime over the manga though I still like the manga

I need to check out the Blast of Tempest manga.

Gunslinger Girl, Black Lagoon, Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Gantz, etc. -- all had good anime adaptations. As for which are better, I'm not going to go there as I think their have both their own strengths and weaknesses compared to their source materials. But, as for what I liked in the adaptations that weren't in the manga (just few examples of many):

In Gunslinger Girl:

In Black Lagoon:

In Birdy the Mighty: Decode:

In Gantz:

are you kidding Gantz??? The anime was god awful and the manga is one of the best

No, I'm not. It was faithful to its source material, if you let minor directorial differences and the last four episodes aside. Which, just to say, I liked those last four episodes. They weren't bad, except maybe that last scene.

I respectfully disagree if they had just waited oh say 5 or 6 years before making it it would have been much much better

Death Note, Attack on Titan, and Fairy Tail are all good adaptations. I think Attack on Titan is one of the best as the only real difference is the ending to the anime since they had to change it a bit since it would be a long break between seasons.

Huh? It was good for what it was. If they had waited until it was further along, yes, it would have been better, but what they did wasn't bad. I really don't see why people claim it's "bad". Visually, it was shaky at times, though nice, but that's to be expected. The music, the voices (both English and Japanese) all fit. What it suffered from was the source material itself, since at that current point in time the story was just getting started, and combined with a two-month per chapter release speed, the adaptation really had nowhere to go after it burned through those first few volumes.

Yet, it's not the anime's fault they decided to churn out an adaptation of a work that developed so slowly so soon like they did, but it happened and there's no changing that. Furthermore, I'd rather not see another remake of an anime adaptation of a work, but given its themes, I don't think it would get one anyway. Then again, you never know...

the biggest problem was Gonzo using CG where ever it could at that time CG wasn't half as good as it is now, That being said I wouldn't want a remake but would love someone like IG to pick it up and do the third arc how epic would that be?

Yeah, the overabundant use of CG was... unnecessary, especially given how limited it was back then. I'd rather see Gonzo continue their adaptation, as they are just as good as IG is. Regardless, the third would be cool to watch. I wish there was more variation of breast sizes, though... in the manga...
