Thank you

I do opine that there's a difference between being a nerd and a geek, and a lot of it relies on what general society thinks is 'normal' and 'useful' and 'cool'; for instance, watching and liking Iron Man movies in itself doesn't automagically make you a nerd. (Though I want to be the last person to call out others as being "fake nerds/geeks.")

On topic:

I know I'm a geek when most of the books I get at the used bookstore are clearance science books. "A 4-inch-thick chemical dictionary??? I need that!"

I know I'm a nerd when my brother begs me to recommend him a TV show to watch, "Just not a manga [sic], please." (As you can tell, my attempts to convert him to the dark side were unsuccessful.)

While watching Kill la Kill today, with a group of friends, Ryuko puts on Senketsu in an awkward Transformation sequence... one 100% RIPPED FROM GUNDAM, SHE PUT ON SENKETSU LIKE A GUNDAM'S TWO HALF'S FORM ONTO THE CORE BLOCK!

And despite every one of these 6 other people CLAIMING they watch Anime, I'm the only one who caught the Gundam reference.

My siblings and I all describe character's fighting powers by way of DBZ references. Gon and Killua from the latest HxH episode are sitting at Super Saiyan right now, while the King just hit Super Saiyan 3, which is way above what the Cell-Visuals would imply. Naruto obtained Sage mode and essentially gained Kaioh Ken, and when he went Super Saiyan with the 9-Tails mode, I was all "I KNEW that was Kaiohken levels previously!

OMFG..... Because of my Fist of the North Star Knowledge, typing Kai-oh-Ken made me realize what it means. It's literally King Kai Fist! Oh is the honorfic/word/whatever for King, while Ken is Fist or Sword. I just went full on fucking Nerd while typing this.

I'm able to list off various Anime Studio's and Directors, and I've got a strong distaste of Miyazaki due to my love of Tomino, and they're like Polar Opposites when it comes to Directing/Writing.

When a friend of mine was Sword-Shopping a month back, because he REALLY wanted to own a Sword, I had to step in and inform him of the various trusty Sword Manufacturing companies, and the site that have good reputations like Kult of Athena. He was trying to go for Expensive, so I lured him into a Cold Steel purchase.

I also know the various Pvc Figure making companies, and I suggest you go for figures smaller than a 1/8, because Christ 1/8 is too big! Stick with Good Smile Company or Chogokin I say! Revoltech is for cheapo's...and anything Bandai you gotta look real hard, half their models be crappy.

I'm trying to be able to hold a conversation with any nerd I meet, but I'm unfortunate in I've barely seen Adventure Time and Star Trek The Next Generation. I keep up with my Starcraft, Drizzit's, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer just to make sure I've got the basics down. BUT DAMN IT, I'M NOT MADE OF TIME HERE.

Despite all the watching anime/loving star wars, lotr, etc/playing PC games, I feel more like a nerd when I spend all weekend doing homework with people, and we're telling each other horrible math jokes that you could only understand if you've taken graduate level differential equations and stuff like that, and we're cracking up uncontrollably.

That makes me feel extremely nerdy.

What do you mean by Nerd/Geek, cause around where I live it's like knowing more than the average person about something.

Basically that, but knowing about games, anime, fantasy, sci-fi stuff, things like that.

That's me!

What about when someone (totally not me) has spent over $1,000, and over 1000 hours onto steam?

Oh Your just like my brother, he's such a nerd!
Well I shouldn't talk since my family looks at me funny when I talk about anime more than my real life.

It's little details like having a pose ready in case you are caught in a pyroclastic flow. Because when people dig you out centuries later, you want to mess with their minds.

By the way, my plan is to snag three passersby and we will do the YMCA. I'm the M.

When you have a long heated debate over which Marvel and/or DC superhero and/or villain is better or stronger than each other.
