first off, want to extend my sympathies to family & friends affected by this. It's worse to not know anything about what happened.

but, isn't it weird? How does a plane just simply vanish in this day and age? Two possible oil slicks and some debris have been found, but everything is speculation. Wouldn't at least parts of a plane float if it had crashed in the ocean? Why has it been two days and yet we don't know anything? And why was there no distress signal released?

It's all reaalllly strange. It's like something from a sci-fi story or something. I'm getting LOST vibes myself.

What are your thoughts on what could have happened?

I thought they would've found out what happened already.
One thing I can think of is proabbly it's being hijacked by the pilots themselves.
I'm really curious about this

A real tragedy. 100's of families affected just like that, many of which who are missing being the only child. Apparently there were a couple of passengers using stolen European passports, which speculates to a possible hijack to say the least. Can't imagine the horrors of all those affected are feeling, especially so little news that is being fed out. With today's technology how can you even lose a plane?!

well i dont mean this dickishly or meanly but first off if it was hijacked its likely that it could have been shot down and nobody is going to claim so

also if something did go wrong with some important part and crashed if you combine the rate of speed with the direction of how it hit and with that the fuel you may not get much of anything other than a slightly giant crater

and i dont know much about planes but some may say conspiracy theory or UFO'S which UFO's ppl commonly associate with aliens but it could have been a collision with something UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECT (UFO) or again shot down by something I DONT MEAN ALIENS

so many things could have happened who knows very saddenly i say

It's all sort of odd. How could a plane possibly vanish into thin air like that, even if it was a hijacking they would still have some sort of track on where they are. Weird huh? In a few weeks or months from now maybe we will know exactly what happened to it and the whereabouts of everybody on board. But until then, it does leave quite a bit to the imagination.

Malaysia Airlines is a very reputable airline. Most likely its pointing towards some type of crash.

I believe the plan might of been sabotaged before heading out and there is also the funny business with few of it's passengers with the passports. It's no coincidence that all this happened with a few suspicious passengers on board. The pilot themselves might even be in the whole plan. I doubt any of them are dead, maybe they're going to use the passengers as some sort of ransom or to start a war of some kind..idk. I feel for the family's involved.

Bermuda Triangle! But in all seriousness, it is sad, and its heartbreaking. It kinda sounds like a hijack to me with the passport issue and whatnot. I really hope everyone's okay.

We can only hope that they're all lost on an island right now...
...but I think that that plane is at the bottom of the sea.

No, but really, the whole thing is just so weird. First off, the plane's destination was to Beijing which isn't really far from Kuala Lampur, it only takes about 6 hours, how could a plane just vanish in that relatively short amount of time. They said the plane wasn't on the radar after an hour or two of taking off.

There's speculations of terrorism of those people using fake passports to get on the plane, and even speculations of the plane "disintegrating mid-flight."

If the plane were to crash somewhere in the Gulf of Thailand or South China Sea (it's more than likely that the plane crashed in the South China Sea right near Vietnam because the plane allegedly veered right to not fly over Cambodia/Vietman) , how could any vessel not see any debris at all so far? All they found were potential doors of the plane near the Vietnam coast. So far nearby countries are all trying to help out; there's currently 34 aircraft doing 12-hour search trips and 40 ships searching throughout the day and night in a 50 nautical mile radius of one of the Vietnam coasts.

At first I thought it was some kind of hijacking but to not hear from anyone on the plane or get any distress signal is just unsettling. I'm beginning to think that the plane has just crashed somewhere in the water and its taking time for rescuers to find the wreckage.

Could of had a failure that caused a crash, like that of Air France Flight 447 in 2009.
